Culinary Dropout is a restaurant with a classy, laidback vibe and a low-light, well-decorated interior. The atmosphere is more formal at this location, and it features live music at a perfect volume. The space is large, and parking is easy.
The food is consistently described as excellent, delicious, really good, and spot on. Popular dishes and appetizers include the pretzels with cheese fondue, pigs in a blanket, whipped feta, BBQ chicken nachos, pork belly nachos, and Mongolian short ribs. For entrees, the spicy rigatoni is repeatedly praised as delicious with the best flavor. Other enjoyed items are the fish and chips, ribs which are fall-off-the-bone tender, chicken katsu sandwich, turkey & pastrami sandwich, Asian salad, and steak frites. The breakfast burrito was considered good but the least favorite among one group. Portions are big.
The drink menu is also a highlight, with the Old Fashioned highly recommended. The espresso martini is also mentioned favorably. Service experiences vary; some servers are amazing, sweet, informative, personable, and provide great recommendations and personal attention, with the entire team being engaging and efficient. Other experiences note servers who seemed rushed and quick to clear plates, sometimes with food remaining. One order mix-up resulted in a billing error.
Overall, the food and drinks are very good, though the restaurant is a little on the pricey end. The positive experiences with the vibe and meals lead many to plan a return visit.
