J. Alexander's Restaurant

Great food, good friendly service, but the interior of the restaurant smells like a bag of sweaty gym socks. The carpet of this establishment must be ripped out completely. We almost left because of the nauseating and off putting smell. We changed tables twice to try and get away from the smell and we finally settled on a small table outside. It's a shame because the food and service are very good. My wife and I ordered the filet mignon and crab cake special. My father-in-law ordered just the crab cakes and my daughter ordered a pepperoni pizza. The crab cakes were the highlight. We were blown away to find amazing crab cakes outside of the east coast where we are originally from. The drinks were very good too. If this place can address the smelly carpet problem they could be really something special in the area.

I have been going to J Alex as a staple for over 20 years but this was the worse experience in all those years. Food was cold when finally arrived and not done to specific order, just very disappointing. Very sad for a place I have always taken guests for consistent great food. Highly disappointed.

Tonight my friends and I had the pleasure of being served by Anna at J. Alexander’s in Franklin, and she was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we sat down at the bar, she greeted us with a friendly smile and made us feel comfortable right away!

Our cocktails were excellent. Each one was perfectly mixed, presented beautifully, and tasted great. Anna was attentive without hovering, checking in at the right times and making sure we had everything we needed. She remembered our drink preferences after just one order and kept our waters filled without us having to ask. She also offered helpful suggestions for cocktails we might enjoy, which we really appreciated.

We come to J. Alexander’s a couple of times a week and have always had good service, but Anna stood out. She is professional, approachable, and clearly takes pride in her work! The atmosphere at the bar felt even more welcoming because of her.

It is not just about the drinks, it is about the overall experience, and Anna made ours great from start to finish. We truly enjoyed having her as our bartender and will definitely be asking for her again on future visits.

If you want excellent cocktails and friendly, attentive service, Anna is a great choice. She made our evening even better, and we look forward to seeing her again soon!

Too loud...waitress was nice but never once asked if we needed any refills on drinks. Food was mediocre. Mahgerita pizza NO FLAVOR BASIL NON EXISTENT. SAUCE WAS LIKE CANNED CRUSHED TOMATOES. ASKED FOR EXTRA SAUCE AND IT WAS SWIMMING IN IT SOGGY CRUST. GREENS IN SALAD WERE LIMP. MORE BREADING THAN CHICKEN . POOR EXCUSE FOR THE PRICE. WOULD NEVER GO THERE AGAIN. SORRY , ITS MUCH ADOO ABOUT NOTHING. No one greeted me when I came in. Way over priced for what you get. They could use cooking lessons and quality supervision. I read a review that went on and on about the building ..but you don't eat the building. I don't care if it's the Taj Mahal if the food is mediocre it ain't worth my time.

The wait was a little long, but that was to be expected over the Mother’s Day weekend. The food was wonderful , and service was excellent.

Never disappointed here. It's a great place to eat.

Fiancé and I had our last pre-marital date this evening. Lezlie made this evening wonderful! She tended to everything we needed, was thoroughly joyous in our celebration and seemed genuinely excited about our wedding. Lezlie sincerely made us feel like she cared about us, and we truly believe she does. Beautiful woman- heart and soul. Thank you so much, Lezlie! We'll bring back pictures from the wedding!

Overpriced and underwhelming...The steak filet was sinewy and not super tasty with a bearnaise sauce that was clearly off. The server rushed us to order, and consider dessert multiple times when we were not even halfway through the meal.

The food here is always very good and the service is exceptional!

Our party of 4 was very pleased with not only our great food but friendly and curious service not only by the reception staff but also by the waiter and serving staff. Highly recommend.

We love dining at J Alexander's Cool Springs location. The service and food is always excellent!!! And the restaurant manager, Nick, always goes out of his way to make sure we have the best dining experience and are well taken care of. We always look forward to dining here!
