Hungry Bear BBQ #1 Reviews
The food is amazing! The service is great here too! I had the beef brisket and my husband had the ribs. It was so yummy! It was close to our vacation rental and parking was a breeze!
Y’ALL. This place serves the BEST food. We just met a really cool guy, Jerry who took the opportunity to allow my group of friends to pray over him. Not only is he kind, he was the only person working at the restaurant at the register AND cooked all of our meals. When I say the BBQ is some of the best I ever had, I mean it. The fries- amazing. The mac and cheese- amazing. The pulled pork, wings, ribs, burgers- perfection. So flavorful, plenty of food for a good price, and cabin-y...read full review
The absolute best BBQ in Gatlinburg! Amazing people, great proportions, and downright delicious! We chainsaw carve right down the road and the smells are to die for alone!

Hungry Bear BBQ #1 is a restaurant that serves a variety of BBQ dishes, including tender and flavorful ribs, sausages, and pork. Many customers say the food is the highest quality in the Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg area, with everything being well seasoned, homemade, and cooked to perfection. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, making guests feel at home. The restaurant is located across the street from excellent trails in the Great Smoky Mountains, making it a perfect stop after a hike. The outside picnic area is clean and shady, adding to the pleasant experience. Customers enjoy the delicious sides, tasty sauce options, and the overall quality of the meal, which is worth the slightly higher prices. The main courses are served quickly, often within five minutes of ordering. The chef is seen loading the grill for the next day, and many feel lucky to dine there. While the menu offers a good variety of BBQ dishes, some dishes can be overcooked, and the sides are limited and not always very flavorful. The atmosphere can be loud because Christian music is played inside, but the friendly staff helps make it a welcoming spot. The restaurant is accessible with flat entryways and offers child seats if needed. Overall, despite some inconsistencies in food quality, many visitors find it worth visiting, especially after outdoor activities, and appreciate the friendly service.
