Germantown Commissary Reviews
My go to bbq when I visit Memphis. The food, the staff and the atmosphere are great! Banana pudding 🤤
I haven’t been to The Commissary since 1989, but I thought it would be a great treat to take my wife there and they didn’t disappoint. The food was just as good today as it was all those many years ago. If you haven’t been, you enjoy BBQ, and love banana pudding.. you’ve GOT to go!!
We were seated promptly and our waiter, Stephen Shelby was excellent. We ate 2-07-22 at 3:20 pm. My bbq salad was delicious.

Germantown Commissary is a renowned restaurant in Memphis, known for its delectable food and cozy ambiance. The restaurant often bustles with customers eager to savor its famous ribs, which are deliciously tender and fall off the bone. The smoked turkey is also highly praised by diners. While some visitors have found the barbecue to be merely average, with well-cooked meat but unexceptional sauce, the mac and cheese may be considered mushy, and the beans were fair, the overall dining experience is positively received.
The restaurant boasts a warm and inviting atmosphere, with interesting decorations that captivate the eye. The caramel cake is a standout dessert, and other sweet treats like the lemon ice box pie and coconut cream pie have also received glowing reviews. The pulled pork is a five-star dish, and the ribs have just the right hint of smoke to make them pop. The hot link is also highly enjoyable. Customers have noted that the price-to-quality and quantity ratio is amazing.
