It has been a while since we tried Jake's Place.. I was pleased at the offerings on the menu; fish had hushpuppies with it, slaw available, and of course, french fries were on the menu. I can't remember if there were white beans or not, and I like white beans or baked beans with my fish. The fish was really good with no "muddy" flavor, and the portion was plentiful. Their burger was good. It did seem a little higher priced than other similar food options.
What will possibly prevent me from returning is the vibe that I got from the tin pan and basket on which the food was served. Also, the "hushpuppies" didn't seem to have any onions in them, and they were a "sweet" cornbread, which I have never had in hushpuppies before. If these two things were changed as well as the huge potholes in the back parking lot, I would be excited about Jakes' Place as another meat and 3 option.
Highly recommend this place! Everything was fantastic and servings were large. Great home cooked food. Owner was very passionate about his food and business. Will definitely come back on our next time through town.
Great dinner tonight. They have a full menu and even some “specials” every week. Dinner was tasty and plentiful. Service was great and atmosphere was nice. It’s a great spot to stop by when you’re in the area.
Food is very good with excellent customer service. Had take out order and their catfish is great. Didn't care for the green beans but not bad. Service was very quick for lunch time. Restaurant clean and prices very reasonable

Very nice place, friendly staff, good food & cool atmosphere. Had the Cajun chicken sandwich & was pleasantly surprised that the breast was juicy (chicken breast is usually on the dry side most places ) it was a good sandwich & I'd order it again. Roasted garlic mashed potatoes with white gravy was also really good.Kid's burger and fries were good as well. Burger was a good size & fries were crispy on the outside soft on the inside.Tater tots were also perfectly crispy. Pineapple upside down cake was really good too.

My wife had the Reubens sandwich with onion rings. I had the catfish. It was all very good. Everything was fresh and cooked well. We will be back. We are both stuffed but had to try the Death by Chocolate. Man!!!
