Great food, nice atmosphere. Lots of variety to the menu. Bulgogi could have been a little spicier, but that was an easy fix.

There are not enough stars available to capture our experience at Maru Ichi. Fresh sushi and attentive service makes it worth the drive. We enjoyed the Gyoza and the Baja Fresh Roll was a creative surprise. Our meal selections showcased the chef, with his choice of nigiri, a spicy tuna roll and wonderfully satisfying miso soup. We were certainly not disappointed! Will we return? Without hesitation, YES!!!

Amazing food and an even better experience! The fried rice was easily the best I’ve ever had, and the katsu curry completely exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, and the service is fantastic, you can tell the staff genuinely work together as a team. Miriam, the owner, is also incredibly friendly and loves chatting with customers, which makes the whole experience feel very welcoming. Overall, a great experience, and I would definitely recommend it! 🍣🍱

I have spent hundreds at this restaurant and come at least twice a month. I order the salmon don each time. Usually it melts in your mouth. However, this time the cuts for the salmon weren’t perpendicular which makes it extremely hard to chew and almost painful to eat. Also the lines were thin which meant it was the tail end of the salmon which makes the tendon aspect absolutely horrendous. I’m extremely disappointed because even at a cheap restaurant, the tendons are cut correctly. The bowl is around $28 and I was polite and ate it but I am beyond disappointed
(I cannot stress this enough, even Kroger sushi cuts their salmon correctly, there’s no excuse for this)

Food was very good. Everything I ate was delicious. Service on the other hand needs some training. Server was inattentive, and dismissive. I was never offered a second drink (which I would have purchased). A group of servers were just sitting at a table talking. From an operations perspective this is a miss because if I would have been offered another drink the ticket would have been higher! Hopefully management gets the feedback and addresses service, because the meal was delicious!

It's not a big place so I was surprised by the menu. It was large. There were soups, salads, entrees, and a whole page of sushi. One of our party got the chicken teriyaki. One not so adventurous. Got a fried chicken tender appetizer, and I got a couple of rolls of sushi. They were all first rate. Everything was really good. I like wasabi and have grown accustomed to the weaker versions I get at a lot of restaurants. This one was clean the hairs out of your nostrils strong. Very impressive. When I want up to the bar to pay I could see they were hand rolling their sushi. They were torching the exterior of a roll that was covered in thin steak. I really recommend this place for quality ingredients and good food.

My husband and I discovered “Maru lchi “ about a year ago as we just moved to Tennessee from South Florida. I was very worried about finding any place that would come close to my favorite sushi places here in the Hendersonville area, but Maru lchi is awesome. The food is always great. Tonight I had the avocado ball pictured, and my husband had Japanese Katu pork curry. We also always lucky to get the same great waitress Alani. I will not eat sushi anywhere else now.
