I haven't eaten at the restaurant side and I haven't gotten any thing from the bakery yet but the store is great for any specialty needs for Mexican dishes. Staff is super helpful.
The food was delicious and authentic Mexican. The waitress didn't speak much English, which was not a problem for us. There was a racy telenovela playing on the TV, which was uncomfortable. I have kids.
The food is the real deal. If you’re used to let’s say Americanized service of fast cheap and easy, just stay out.
This food is authentic. I highly recommend the steak burrito. My friend got eggs, beans, and rice. Judging by the quality of ingredients- it’s not the classic cheap distribution Latin food, that most if not all “mexican restaurants” use, that stray from their roots. El Ganadero offers amazing sopas and short ribs, making customers feel at home with its delicious food. The attached store sells great snacks and produce, including the biggest mangos ever seen. Despite a loud music situation with multiple TVs, the terrific food and authentic home-cooked meals make it worth the visit. While service may be a bit slow, the overall experience and Mexican bakery next door add to the charm of this local hangout.
