so i went there yesterday for the crab legs and shrimp platter. for almost $50, i thought it would've been more. I went in and they gave me 10shrimps, 2 potatoes, no sausages, i also paid extrafor another crab leg and extra corn. the food was so bland. its like they boiled everything in water without any seasoning. I was so disappointed in the food. because I ate there before when crawfish was in season. I see why they had to close. wasted my money.
The food is delicious and the service is exceptional.
Surprisingly tasty, being so far from the gulf. My low expectations were exceeded. We'll done Bayou boy's. Im from the panhandle of Florida and it was close in comparison to freshness and cooked well also.

Great food, good vibe, good service
I really like this place. They serve up solid shrimp and crab boils along with all the Louisiana staples you’d expect. The staff are always friendly, and the place stays clean and welcoming. I usually go for the shrimp boil, which has been excellent every time. I’ve had my eye on the crab cakes and plan to try them next visit. Definitely worth stopping in if you’re craving Cajun-style seafood.

Was leaving Bristol and scheduled a to-go order ahead of time at Bayou Boys Fresh Gulf Shrimp in Johnson City. It was ready exactly on time. Waited a few min to be greeted and receive the to-go order. Staff was friendly and food was hot. I had requested extra remoulade sauce and nice to discover that I had received 6 containers. While the sauce is more of a thin consistency, it does have a nice light flavor to it (perfect to dip fries in also). Seasoned fries were perfectly cooked and hot. As for the Shrimp Po Boy, I was happy with the size of the sandwich and the amount of toppings. Definitely bring your appetite! The shrimp were large in size and perfectly cooked. The lettuce could be a bit crisper/fresher, but overall, this satisfied the craving I’ve been having for a Shrimp Po Boy. Price paid was very reasonable at $13.68.

This place was very dirty. The salt & pepper shakers were greasy. Our food came out cold and wasn’t good at all it tasted like is was left over from a couple of days ago. Our server wasn’t that great I would say below average. However the kicker was that they charged a 20% gratuity for a party of 9. This gratuity is telling me how to spend my money and forces us to pay for bad service. There will be no revisit to the established.

The food is very expensive which makes sense because it is seafood and we are inland, but it just wasn't that great. We likely won't be back.

I'm not exactly sure what has happened to this place, but it's gone beyond downhill. We used to come to Bayou Boys all the time when we first moved here. We had spent the last 36 years down on the Gulf Coast in FL. They had the best Key Lime pie, seafood boil perfectly seasoned with Cajun spices, hurricanes that taste like they were made in New Orleans. Well, after Helene hit or life here got placed on hold. It was our anniversary, so there was zero question where we were going to go. The server was sup-par, and I've worked in many restaurants in all positions. They are really pushing for you to pay in cash. The corn was mushy, the shrimp was overdone, and they no longer give you the proper utensils for crap legs, only the cracker for the claws. So fork it was, I tore my hands to hell and have fun with that fork. They don't serve liquor anymore, key lime pie, nope... There was zero explanation as to why I couldn't order a hurricane, but I could still have beer. The AC wasn't working properly. The fish up in the case that is supposed to be fresh smelled rather fishy, again FL Gulf Coast... They trys of fish from the night before were tossed into the case and fish not even unwrapped. However, they are hiring. You don't want to work here. I wish I had noticed the truck in the parking lot before hand, we would have never gone in. I'm gathering they are there for Bayou Boys.

The catfish was a little overcooked but was delicious anyway. The service was excellent and was a nice quiet place today. Definitely going back.

My husband and I ended up getting raw lobster tales. The second time the raw lobster tales came it was steam long but still not done. I went to the restroom and the cook and staff were talking about it. Everything else was really good. The restroom was very clean. The meal was combined for two.

Food was bland and the crab was overcooked. Was in 2022 and I’ve heard they’ve only gotten worse
Great food, friendly service!! My family & I loves it!!
The food was overly expensive for what it was. Our apps came the same time as our food. And the apps were burnt. Im not even sure why they would serve them to us like that. Definitely will not be going again.
To be a cajun place every thing was quite bland. I guess most people go for the seafood platters because thats what every table around us had. We tried quite a few things: crab cakes- editable but little crab, crawfish cake- tasted like really bad stuffing and mushy, fried green tomatoes- tomatoes themselves were fine but that sauce was heavy and bland, alligator- tasted ok but chewy, shrimp and grits- thick mushy and had a very odd flavor, alfrado- shredded chicken dry bland, shrimp creole- ok kindda blan, crawfish etouffee- ok just bland and the worst of the night the red beans and rice.
Waitress was nice, kitchen was kindda slow and it was HOT in there. It was on the pricey side especially considering the quality. Nothing was inedible...... but I would never want to eat any of it again.
