We recently spent a few weeks in Thailand, with friends who had just come from Vietnam. We sought out “authentic, local” food for every meal. We ate in small towns, in small spaces - sometimes nothing more than the front room of someone’s house. And it was wonderful. But after coming back to the Southeast US we weren’t sure we’d be able to eat authentic Southeast Asian food again. But we found this place online, and it had great reviews, so we decided to give it a try, and drive an hour to check it out. SO WORTH IT! The staff were welcoming and kind, the food was flavorful and thoughtfully prepared, and we will definitely be back. What an unexpected treasure in an unexpected location. Thank you!

One of my favorite restaurants in the Tri Cities area. Family run, always warm and welcoming. The Roots special is a great option if you aren't coming for the delicious Pho.

First time eating here and I must say it was delicious! The people working here are very friendly and they seem to really care that all of the customers are satisfied with their food. I had their Pho and Banh Mi sandwich. Both of which were super delicious and fresh. If you’re looking for a good Vietnamese spot in town, this is it!

We haven't been here in quite some time and found that the menu had considerably changed, along with items on the menu.Flavors very distinct and different. I jaded the cornish hen with fried rice. Loved the flavors, especially of the fried rice. The cornish hen was good, and glad there was some side sauce to add moisture. Another dish we had was the Mi Xao stir fried noodles, with vegetables and chicken. The server did suggest lessening the sweet sauce it was made with, making it a better flavor for us. The noodles were fried but softened some with the medley on top. Again, another interesting flavor. We must go back and try other items on the menu. I do wish there was more explanation o the menu for the varied items, to understand what was being ordered. We saw a huge crepe delivered to another table. Had no idea it would be so large, so size mentioned would also help. Also, i am looking forward to eating their pho soup and comparing to others in the tri-cities area. More than 50% of the tables had Pho Soup.

Very very tasty. Bahn mi was excellent and the pho was great. It was my friend's first time and she really enjoyed it. I loved Th coffee. Probably will come back several times just for that. Service was great. Very helpful in explaining the differences and encouraging to try new stuff. Love it.

Since leaving Colorado had a hard time finding delicious Vietnamese food… And I cannot believe that I found one of the best tucked away in Johnson City. First of all the space is a really cool industrial looking establishment. I found everything to be super clean and well organized. The girl that waited on me was very kind and actually from Colorado which I found very cool. I always order a pork noodle bowl, eggrolls and iced coffee. I feel the most important thing when I’m judging these places is how well they execute something as simple as eggrolls . This place definitely did not disappoint on that front. I really got spoiled out in Colorado. Pork noodle bowl that I am accustomed to consist of rice noodles, over at Lettuce, with cucumbers and lemon grass grilled pork, bean sprouts, peanuts, mint and cilantro . They, however, did not have the cilantro or really bean sprouts I believe . However, this place did not disappoint their eggrolls come in a big order for a round $11 and was served with most sides that I’m used to. Lettuce, mint, cilantro and bean sprouts …is a traditional served on the side so you can wrap your crispy eggroll in it before you dip in your fish sauce. Even though their version was missing some of the components that I’m used to it was still extremely enjoyable. The pork had a fabulous flavor and the fish sauce was extremely balanced. I am super excited and will definitely be stopping here every time I’m in town ???? I ordered two large orders of eggrolls and pork noodle bowls so I would have leftovers to take home. Which by the way, is my favorite cuisine the save for the next day. I could eat this cuisine every day and never get tired of it so if you are a Vietnamese food lover, like I am, I highly recommend this place. Thank you guys for giving me a little taste of home. ??

Absolutely lovely restaurant. I cannot wait to eat here more: the Shaken Beef was DELICIOUS, just so good it's hard to describe how good it was. Amazingly seasoned and so tender!Dietary restrictions: I have a shellfish allergy and have to eat gluten free. The sweet gal who took my order was so patient with me and made me feel so confident about eating there, and my food was DELICIOUS and safe. Sometimes it's not worth it for me to eat out because the gluten free options aren't as good but I don't think I'll have to worry about that here.
