About Bistro At the Bijou

Located next to the Bijou theater in downtown Knoxville, the Bistro At the Bijou offers a warm ambience and excellent food and service. The restaurant serves American cuisine, with dishes like salmon, peppercorn pork chops, and salads that are highly recommended. The atmosphere has a cozy, speakeasy vibe with Tennessee music flair, especially on weekends when live jazz music featuring local legends and UT students creates a lively setting. On busy nights, there may be a wait, but the experience is worth it. Guests can enjoy specials and delicious desserts like coconut cream pie and peanut butter chocolate pie, which are highly praised. The restaurant also features a small vegan section with flavorful, freshly made options such as tofu scampi, beet and tofu bowl, and Brussels sprouts. The menu includes seriously great burgers and some dishes like bruschetta chicken, which customers love. The service is exceptional, with friendly staff who promptly recommend daily specials, offering something new to try each time. The lively jazz band on weekends creates a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere, making it a favorite spot for many. For convenience, there is a parking lot nearby. Whether for a nice dinner, drinks before a show, or to listen to jazz, this spot is a must-visit in Knoxville.

We just had dinner at The Bistro and I’m in love with the bruschetta chicken!!! It was so good, I could tell the vegetables were home grown and super delicious….please put this on the menu all the time! Can’t wait to go back to our favorite restaurant 💕

My favorite restaurant in Knoxville! Our lunch was so delicious!

I’ve mostly liked it here but tonight a lot of pressure to order dinner despite telling staff we were here to meet friends and wait for the event next door; I bought 5 rounds of drinks, appetizers, and 2 entrees and felt rushed to spend more money the entire time we were there. Once we ordered entrees it was undercooked but not worth it to complain because we felt pressured the entire time we were there and just wanted to leave.
