I've been good to Calhouns on the river for years but never thought too much of it until I recently tried the brisket, mac and cheese, and spinach maria, all of which are genuinely fantastic. The brisket is tender and flavorful, without having any pieces that are tough or chewy. The mac and cheese is really solid. The spinach maria is very cheesy and flavorful. I like the variety of bread they bring out too. For a nicer restaurant, it's not too expensive either. Service...

I always like going to this place. Mostly the river front and bearden locations with the Riverfront being the best ambience and atmosphere, especially after. UT game... and sometimes before.
The bearden location is solid. Always get the spinach Maria- which in my opinion is the best item on the menu and one of the best in town. The prime rib is always good , consistently over a long period of time. The servers and bartenders I've had here and downtown are excellent...

I always dine with Anna C and I never regret it! Friendly service, Fast service, Thorough service and great food! I love the bread and barbecue so much I come back time and time again for my experience And to see her beautiful face!
