We were not impressed with this place. The onions were the best thing of the night; they were good! But everything else definitely didn't meet our expectations. First off they used small regular ice chips that would be found in fountain drinks in both my old fashion and whiskey sour drinks. That ice should NEVER be used in an alcohol drink like that! Secondly I ordered the mushroom swiss burger- when I order anything mushroom swiss, I expect a good melting gooey mushroom swiss mix. This very sad looking burger had small chopped bits of mushrooms (which had a distinct strong mushroom smell to them that told me they were mushrooms nearing their expiration) and a small sad looking piece of swiss cheese that was barely melted. The Mayo looked like it was just a quick small swipe on the bun, and the burger was so small, flat and sad looking that it didn't even fill the bun. Everything else we ordered was mediocre at best. The waitress was average- not friendly, not rude, but she was good at keeping my husband's drink refilled and picking up the empty plates so that our table remained clean and clear which is why I gave the service a 3 star.
We really had such high hopes for this place but instead we were both highly disappointed.

Wow. Awful. Terrible service, the waitress acted as if we were a bother. The food was cold. They said they can’t toss tenders in sauce if you want 2 sauces. They also charged us for the 2 sauces and the one cup of ranch that the menu said comes with the tenders.

We use to eat here quite a bit. But it has been a while, do too moving further away. The food has always been great. But I guess since the last time I ate here, the owner has gotten greedy. I ordered twenty five tenders and got two tiny ramekins of sauce with it. That's pretty ridiculous, even mcdonald's gives you more than that.

The food was just ok, but the service was not the best. I ordered curbside, but had to go in to get my food. It was just sitting by the door.

The food at Double Dogs was good, but the service left a lot to be desired.
We didn’t see our server again after she took our order until the entrées arrived, which wouldn’t normally be a big deal—except she completely forgot to ring in our appetizers. What made it even more confusing was that we watched her write it down, so the appetizers should have been the first thing on her list. We sat there for about 25 minutes with nothing but our drinks and didn’t get a chance to follow up because she never came back.
Now, I’m not saying this was intentional, but as the only Black patron in the restaurant, the situation felt odd. It was almost comical when I quietly mentioned this to my husband, and the server just happened to be nearby. Shortly after, she returned to her station, and the cook—who also happened to be Black—briefly appeared in the doorway before disappearing again, almost like they were “showing him off.” The whole thing was weird and left a sour taste in my mouth.
That was especially disappointing because the food was delicious—as far as hot dogs go. The fries were perfectly crisp and thankfully unseasoned because, honestly, what’s wrong with just salt? The chili I sampled from my husband’s plate was yummy (finding a bay leaf in it made me smile; no surprise it tasted good). I wasn’t a fan of the coleslaw, though. It wasn’t sweet, and since I don’t like mayo, I need that sweetness to mask the taste.
It’s a real shame we missed out on the sausage queso and chips because of one inattentive waitress’s forgetfulness. Hopefully, our next visit will be smoother because the food is worth it.
Vegetarian options: It's a wing a hotdog place so fries? And no they don't offer plant based at least not hot dogs anyway.
Wheelchair accessibility: Some regular height tables but most are hightops or booths and sure you could take a wheelchair in there but I'm not sure about maneuverability

This past Saturday, November 9, I met friends at the Double Dogs on Kington Pike to dine and watch the Tennessee football game. The food is delicious and I like the atmosphere with the many large screen televisions showing different football games. However, I was very disappointed with the service. Our waitress did well with the basics of taking our beverage and food order and serving the food in a reasonable time. Beyond that, she did not take initiative to clear my plate, shake mugs and water glasses. I had to ask her to remove these items from the table and should not have to ask. She even gave me an attitude frown for asking her to remove the mugs. I understand it was a busy evening but I was patient and waited awhile before I politely responded. This is not an isolated incident. I've been to this Double Dogs before and dinner plates would be sitting on the table for over an hour while we were watching a sporting event. I feel the wait staff need additional training to do a complete job even after the bill is paid.

Friendly and helpful staff! Food recommended was good. Not too sure about the ranch with egg chunks in it. But overall the chicken tenders with the smokin Thai sauce was great. Fries were not the greatest even after a fresh batch came out. Definitely had better fries.
But the service, atmosphere, and my chicken tenders were great!
