The owner was very personable. This place was a favorite of my grandmother's and we decided to go to celebrate her life. They were able to accommodate our very large party in town.

El Charro used to be amazing and now it's okk. The prices have gone up and quality has gone down.

Selected this place through EZ Caterer last night while restaurant was closed. This morning, 28min after I received notice that my order was confirmed, my clients emailed and said due to snow overnight they needed to reschedule. I tried to call restaurant myself, no answer. Juan, wasn't helpful or understanding at all. He is charging me 100% saying that he had to purchase more food, while still closed and would only refund drinks and utensils...charging me tax on food I, nor my clients will never receive. Horrible customer service and I'll never attempt to order here again.

This is our go to lunch spot. Very fast and reasonably priced.

We love Mexican food and frankly, Knoxville has an abundance of good Mexican restaurants. We’ve tried them all, I believe. But we’ve been coming back to El Charro for 25 years. The food and service are top shelf! If you’re looking for spicy, try the Carnitas en Salsa Verde (IMO the best Mexican dish in Knoxville). Many other great foods. They’ve catered a few larger events for us and did an excellent job.
ps. Jose is the best server in K-Town!

Cheyenne was my server. The dining experience was truly exceptional, exceeding all expectations. The service provided was both prompt and attentive, ensuring a pleasant meal. It was a great dining experience overall.

Had lunch today and Dayana provided great service 😋. Food was good as usual. 1/22/2025👍
