My wife and I had the crab cakes as an appetizer. For the main course, I had the elk loin and she had the pork chops.

I can’t speak to the other dishes on the menu, but our food was excellent. Flavorful, seasoned perfectly, and absolutely delicious.

Our server Ian was excellent, offered excellent recommendations and was attentive without being intrusive.

Pricey, to be sure, but we enjoyed our meal and hope to come again.

A fantastic server is the only saving grace for this $300 tragedy. Remarkably mediocre. Not sure what was more disappointing, the boar’s head deli meat starter or the luke warm entrees. The only redeeming food was the Brussel sprouts which were…fine. The truffle mac was a mediocre standout amongst a full table of mediocrity. Why on gods green earth would one choose orzo as the pasta for this dish!? It boggles the mind. Again, everything on the entree plates was cold. There was a vision, but it seemed to be forgotten. Oh well, and least the old fashion comes in a smoked out platter to make sure you know that could it taste smoky but in fact doesn’t.

To start, our service was amazing. No notes there. However, the food was remarkably bad for the price point.

We started with the fettine which might as well have been deli cuts served with no fuss. Then we had the scallop & risotto. The scallops were cooked well, but the risotto was awful. It was cold, bland, and mushy. Maybe the worst I've ever had. The elk was delicious and a well thought out dish, but the polenta was cold. I would order this one again, the candied blueberries were delicious and it felt very seasonal.

The truffle mac and cheese was made out of orzo, which I thought was an interesting choice as the orzo added nothing to the dish. It was also bland and lukewarm with seemingly no truffle to be found. Crispy brussels however are a must order.

The ambience was great, would love to return, but would need to see some menu improvements first.

Stopped in for lunch, sat at the bar with Jake and had the best service! Jake was knowledgeable about the menu and gave us his personal recommendations, all of which were excellent. Jake took the time to explain the dinner menu and give suggestions for when we return. Had a bowl of Texas Red to start off and enjoyed a prime rib sandwich and burger, all of which were amazing. Will definitely be back!

We had an event of approx 30people and everything was exceptional! Donna's kindness and willingness to be above and beyond helpful was sooo refreshing. Emily & Jackson were wonderful and so accommodating as well! Thank you again for making it all so easy and decreasing the stress that comes with hosting educational events

I Was going to do 4 but thought no, other people need to know before they spend $300 on 2 people.. it is a genuine 3 , its okay. Nothing more, nothing less.
Our waiter while nice and attentive had a very thick european accent and talked so fast i literally did not understand half of what he said. I felt very rushed to give my order, i was having a difficult time because you have to give all your order at once. The crab cakes was a dissapointment they took meat and covered it in hot sauce essentially. No flavor other than hot sauce.
The salad of baby kale and beets i only had 1 bite, not a fan. Now the dish they are known for the stuffed beef tenderloin.. i was actually expecting it to be stuffed instead it was sat on a pile of overcooked bland onions n mushrooms i think, whatever it was i pushed it to the side. However, the meat was cooked very well and was the best part of the entire meal. Would recommend it. Now side dishes the mac and cheese was terrible. I brought it home and everyone thought it was rice it was lil rubbery chunks in a sauce so bland, would not recommend. The yukon mash & burnt carrots was descent but wouldnt order again. While i would like to try some of the other items like the elk or lobster the chances of me coming back probably want happen its just not worth it. It also got very very loud when 2 parties was sat next to us. Large parties should be sat seperate from 2 people dates, we could barely hear each other. Final note my biggest dislike of this place was that nothing could be made to your liking. I understand the point but for that kind of $ it shouldnt be that difficult to omit pecans from my salad or to change sauces etc..

Perfect, Amazing and Wonderful!
I hosted a private event for 16 people. From the very first email to the closing of the invoice, the entire process was perfect. I dealt with Donna Dugger from start to finish and she was amazing. She kept me up to speed and has excellent communication. I was considering three different restaurants and went to all three in advance to taste the food, check out the ambiance and service levels. Lonesome Dove stood out on every level. The event went perfect and the service and food were outstanding. I am very thankful to Donna and her team. Well done, amazing work and we will be back next year!

The atmosphere and service was great, spot on, not overbearing and there was a nice vibe. The food was good, and we enjoyed the experience. Taste is biased per person, nothing stood out here and the oysters were a little lacking. Cocktails were done well.
