We were visiting the area and looking for some quality coffee beans. We found Mahalo Coffee Roasters and stopped in. The staff was so friendly and helpful explaining the differences with each type of bean. We ended up buying 3 bags of whole bean coffee and they even ground it for us specifically for pourover coffee. The beans were all recently roasted (within the week) and taste amazing.
Lovely location with lots of seating, friendly baristas, very good coffee, and some gluten free options among the pastry items, too! I like basic cold brew and americanos the best among coffee drinks, and both of theirs are quite good, though I’ve had a few of their seasonal lattes and found the flavorings well balanced and not overly sweet.
We drink some of the best coffees when home, so when we travel we are always in search of a delicious cup of coffee. I am happy to say we enjoyed Mahalo’s Costa Rica Tarrazu- Honey Process. It is a medium roast with a pleasant after taste. It may have a been a touch strong, but I will take strong coffee over weak coffee any day of the week. And, the banana bread was delicious!
