First time visiting Open Chord Stage last night for The Guild 10yr show and had an absolute blast!! The venue is clean with great sound and acoustics, drinks including non-alcoholic choices for the straight edge crowd which is nice. Had an amazing time and a safe, fun, hard, and energetic show. Staff was kind, security was doing their jobs, venue was packed but moveable, we all had a great concert experience. Looking forward to more HEAVY shows at the Open Chord Stage. To the event staff -don’t be scared of hardcore and deathcore acts, the music might be scary or different than what you’re used to but we show out, we buy merch, we pack venues, and yeah we mosh and we have a blast but for the most part these are some of the nicest dudes you will come across who are all about helping one another and there’s a difference between moshing and just straight up fighting or being a jerk and I didn’t see any of that going on at all because most of the time, how it should be, the guys will not let this happen someone will step in and break it up before security even needs to be involved. More heavy shows at Open Chord please!!! Keep Knoxville heavy and support your local music scene!!!

A small venue, that makes for a more personal experience.

Went here for the first time to see a stand up comic act. Not a good place for this sort of thing. Way too many people for the place and no attention was paid to keeping the place from getting way too hot once packed with people. Food and drink was also pretty awful compared to the price. I’d go back again but with minimum expectations. Guess I’m getting old…..

Not a welcoming atmosphere or staff.. even when youre the only person in there. As soon as you walk in. Drink was a little overpriced but the food seemed tasty. Because of the staff I didnt stay but long enough to have 1 drink. Decided to go somewhere else.

Don’t waste your money on “VIP” seating. The tables are placed on one side, leaving the floor open for everyone to crowd in, blocking your view. You can still hear the music and he a glance of those on stage, but this is not vip seating as they sell them

Great place for live and sometimes local music. Supports local musicians with a nice music store. Bar and food.

Got hot very quick. Also security sucks or shall I say there is none. People just walk into the bands equipment area and they have to work around them or tell them to get out. One guy ran and jumped on stage and the band had to tell him no during the faster pussycat show. The place is a joke. The only reason I give it two stars is the bar tenders are good otherwise I wouldn’t give them one.
