Service was pretty good, the inside is cool, but a bit on the pricey side. Worth stopping by if you're in knoxville
Scruffy city hall employee told me I wasn’t disabled enough to use their elevator to get to the rooftop. The bartender named Jackie at Bernadette’s crystal gardens was extremely rude and dehumanizing not only did she look extremely under the influence but she was on some kind of power trip since none of the other bartenders had a problem when I asked to use their elevator. Imagine paying for overpriced tiny drinks, paying to get in and then be discriminated against because your disability isn’t what some random able bodied person thinks disability looks like💀 I’ve let everyone I know in the Knoxville area that this place is a no go. Not inclusive and very ignorant to ADA law.
What a shame your company must have to not only hire someone that would shame someone for being disabled but for also not being inclusive. I’m glad you have an employee that would try to respect company policies but either she took it too far or your policies are absolutely disgusting. For an employee to look at a guest and for them to say that the guest isn’t “disabled enough” is pathetic. Fix you standards for your business or pay attention to whom you are hiring more. You’ve just lost a lot of business as now your business will be labeled as just another ableist center.
Bartender told me I wasn’t disabled enough to use their elevator. Firstly I’ve been to Bernadette’s crystal gardens before on my birthday and was using my walker and was taken to the roof bar via their elevator. This day it was pouring rain and I couldn’t bring my mobility aid, my mom went up to the bartender named Jackie to ask if someone could take me up to the roof and she was told it’s not allowed because I wasn’t in a wheelchair or crutches my mom explained I’m chronically ill but was still told no. Luckily a security guard named Abby was not gonna let her ruin our night and happily took me up the elevator and told me I did not need to explain my disability to her. Goes to show what a little kindness can do. We also went to the second floor and any time I needed an elevator the bartenders were happy to call someone to take me in it. When I left I went up to that bartender and told her what she did was discrimination and illegal as I paid to get into that bar so they legally have to have an accessible route by ada law. I lifted up my T-shirt to show her the multiple medical devices and tubes on my stomach keeping me alive. I cannot walk stairs I am a fall risk. She refused to listen and just kept cutting me off saying a very insincere “sorry” since I was speaking loud enough for the rest of the bar to hear what she did she tried to hush me and another bartender called security once I started talking. Funny how you can call security for me just saying out loud what you did wrong but you couldn’t call security to unlock the elevator like everyone else. It takes a second of kindness to be a good person but instead my night was ruined by ignorance.
Great place, good food, good ownership and management.
Be careful here, this place has some greedy employees. I was there recently with some college friends and made an $8 tip. They changed the decimal place on the receipt to give themselves an $80 tip. I’ve tried calling several times to talk to a manager but haven’t been able to get a hold of anyone. I’ve been able to talk to my credit card company and they are starting a case but I’m still upset I couldn’t get a hold of anyone here.
It’s pretty popular place and the food/drinks were good, just be careful leaving a tip and use a big decimal place to ensure they don’t try to cheat you out of your money.
I like the place, but had to pay a 5 dollar cover just to come in at 730 for a show that didn't start til 9 is crazy. I just wanted to go to the rooftop and have some drinks.
We came to see The love giants and were not disappointed! <3<3
Had a great time with the music on top of the roof of scruffy City. You never know what you'll find happening at scruffy City. Sometimes they're doing a movie night or sometimes it's comedy night and always. There's going to be a great band or good music. Not as busy as the next door pub and has a great atmosphere. The place to watch music downstairs is wonderful and the upstairs balcony has old church pews. A Sunday rave in the afternoon is a great idea. Glad they're bringing in DJ's like myself to do this. Can't wait to go back and do more.
We just stopped for drinks but there were 3 stories of bars. It was fun and the band that was playing that night was pretty good. The roof was not going well cause of rain but I’m sure it is awesome.

I loved this bar but I got double charged there for a drink last weekend and have tried to call multiple times but no one picks up and there’s no voicemail option. Kind of frustrating.
Cute 3 story with rooftop bar.
