Entree was cold. Apparently, that is how it is served, but that should be clear on the menu description. Wait staff was nice enough, but extremely slow and hard to track down. Waited on him more than he waited on us.
Very mediocre food. The seared tuna dish looked pretty but was just a mushy mess in the middle. The unique ice cubes were fun.
Was highly disappointed the way the hostess responded to a reasonable request. I had two reservations for a 4 top at 5:15 and 5:30. I asked to be seated close together. The male host and server both told me they should be able to make it happen. I had 6 open 4 tops EMPTY surrounding our first table. The female host responded to my requests with a poor attitude and proceeded to want to sit our other 4 in the opposite room. While I understand sometimes it's impossible to make happen she clearly was going out of her way to make it not happen. The following evening at the Kennedy we added on two extra guests last minute and the host went out of their way to help accommodate. While food and service are both important the hostess stand is where customers get a first impression of the restaurant.
We had the brunch, 2 of us ordered one of their Eggs Benedict and the poached eggs came out hard boiled. Also the home fries were not even room temperature. Returned one plate, took awhile for the plate to be returned; eggs were still just shy of hard boiled, not runny at all, but home fries very hot. Ordered Deviled egg appetizer that were different but tasty. If you are not into different types of deviled eggs, don't get them. Ask about them first. Service was good. Apologies for hard boiled eggs, offered to comp us a dessert. Got mimosa's; OJ on the side; largest container of Prosecco I have ever seen. Not very busy (Black Friday), so environmental was quiet and not rushed.
The oysters were wonderful! Celebrating a friends birthday and she received a free dessert with lit candle! Nice touch! Our entrees were great as well!
Best brunch we have found in Knoxville. Menu options for all preferences/needs but do suggest more gluten-free options. All members of our party were extremely pleased with their orders : biscuits and gravy, omelets, and eggs Benedict.
Everything from the service, the food, the atmosphere, cleanliness was superb! Will definitely be back!
I had the steak frites at STIR and it was absolutely outstanding. The steak was perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful. But what truly made the experience exceptional was our server, Colten. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely made us feel taken care of. Colten’s service elevated the whole evening.
Highly recommend both the steak frites and asking for Colten if you want an all-around excellent dining experience at STIR!
Also, for the to-go food, he labeled and dated it. Extra stars!

Restaurantji Recommends
Booked a table two months in advance… waited over 30 minutes after the reservation time and ended up having to leave for another restaurant because they refused to ask the guests at the table (who had already paid) to leave. Ridiculous
Nice place for good food. Great selections for all type of food fare.

I go for the oysters, and I’ve eaten here several times now. Without exception, there is shell grit in the oysters. Today half my platter had grit in them. The truffle fries were also very bland - I actually had to request salt. Since I don’t enjoy eating tiny rocks, I’ll be taking my oyster cravings to the Brass Pearl from now on.

A Knoxville Gem I Can't Wait to Visit Again
For the first time in a long time, I handed over the lunch-picking duties -- and my lady friends nailed it. On our drive home through Knoxville, we made a spontaneous stop, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions of the trip.
We chose to sit outside since we had our pup with us, and the patio didn't disappoint -- spacious, shaded with large umbrellas, and totally dog-friendly. They even brought out a water bowl for our furry companion, which was such a thoughtful touch. That said, I did sneak a peek inside, and wow -- the interior is stunning. Gorgeous bar, flooded with natural light, and high ceilings that made the space feel airy and elegant. Even the bathrooms were impressive -- clean, stylish, and well-kept.
Now, let's talk drinks: the cocktail menu was so good that I genuinely struggled to choose. Luckily, with four of us at the table, we ordered a variety and shared sips all around. The Appletini and Whiskey Bramble were the standouts for me, but everything we tried was on point. I'm already planning a return visit just to work my way through the rest of the menu.
We kicked things off with the Parmesan White Truffle Fries and East Coast House Oysters. The fries were crisp and rich with flavor -- exactly how you want them. And the oysters? Fresh, clean, and delicious. I'll definitely be ordering those again.
For mains, we covered a lot of ground: Chicken Lettuce Wraps, Seared Tuna Salad, Tuna Poke Bowl, and Chicken Piccata. Not a single dish missed the mark. Every bite was full of flavor, beautifully plated, and totally satisfying. It's rare for a group of four to be equally impressed across the board, but this place pulled it off.
To top it all off, the team surprised me with a crème brûlée (complete with birthday candle!). If I'm being picky, I'd have liked the sugar top a little crunchier -- but that's splitting hairs. It was creamy, sweet, and a lovely way to end the meal.
Special shoutout to our waitress, who was sweet, attentive, and on point with timing -- we never felt rushed and everything came out perfectly paced.
Can't wait to go back. If round two is anything like the first, this spot will earn a permanent place on my Knoxville favorites list.
