We stopped by Calhoun's while traveling through the area and it was a great decision. Found them while searching for restaurants through Google maps and loved that it was by the water. We stopped on a night when they were doing a trivia night which seemed like a lot of fun. Hubby got the trio and he kept raving about how good it was. He said the meat was super tender and such a good flavor. I got the hand breaded chicken tenders with mac& cheese and a Caesar salad. Everything was delicious. The atmosphere was great and the service was phenomenal.

They went above and beyond. I ordered take out and when I got home realized they had not given us any BBQ for pulled pork. I was close so went back over and explained the situation. They made it right and gave me an entire bottle with apologies. I felt like that is good customer service. They could have just given me a small pod of it but to make up for me having to go back they made it worth while. The food was amazing as well~

Bug place. Fried green tomatoes very good. Bread brought to table very good. Wings ok should be smoked ones avaiabke daily. Burnt ends wrapped in bacon not ends and tough. I had brisket chili. One cube of meat in whole bowl. Chili not flavorful.

Sat in the bar area at 2pm with another couple. The husband's did not order alcoholic drinks since they were driving. My friend and I ordered long Island top shelf. We also ordered meals and bread. The problem is the amount we paid for our drinks to only get kool-aid. I hadn't eaten all day so when I drunk some of my drink I should have gotten a little tipsy but never got even a little. When we told the bar tender that our drinks were weak, she just smiled about it. Im 65yrs old. I'm not a drunk. I have a drink maybe 3 times a year. If you're going to serve kool-aid, then don't charge as much. She needs to find another type of field to work in if she doesn't want people to be able to relax. I've been coming to this location for years but have decided to not come here anymore. Thanks for a bad time.

Waitress said I looked hot and spilled a glass of water on my lap. I didn’t appreciate looking like I peed my pants nor did she comp anything in return.
Food was meh. Server was bad (bless her heart). Just not great.

My wife and I haven't had Calhouns in a long time, so we decided on this location for dinner. Nice welcome as we came in. We were escorted to our table and handed menus. Basic restaurant fare. We sat, we waited after deciding on drinks and food. We sat, we waited. Rinse, repeat. 2 tables came and were waited on by the only waitress in the area. We tried to make eye contact and were ignored. Other tables were getting water's and their order taken. We got up and left. I spoke with the manager who seemed slightly interested, but will anything be done? I doubt it. Not a race issue, we fit in with everyone else. Its too bad, we dont know why we were ignored. It upset my wife. We tip 30% usually. So sad. They missed out. We won't be back. Edit: The more we think about it, the angrier we are. This was supposed to be a chill night and get out of the house meal. Instead, we get fast food and go home. I cannot convey the level of upset we are over this snub.
Food was excellent and great lake and marina view. Service was a bit slow and some dinners expressed there dissatisfaction very rudely. It was a busy holiday weekend and with some patience everything turned out great.
