“My husband and I were planning on visiting some friends in Kingsport and working on checking off some distilleries along the whiskey trail. We scheduled to go to Jack Daniel's and our friends told us we had to go to Miss Mary Bobo's. So I scheduled a lunch reservation for us.

We went in the off season on a weekday. We checked in a few minutes prior to our reservation. We were given a card the size of a business card with the dining room name on it and told the bell will ring when it is time to be seated. We explored the gift shop while we waited.

Promptly at 11am, the dinner bell was rung and people were escorted to their dining room by a host. Our host was Kevin.

We went in the Tolley room and were seated at a beautiful wood table with a lazy Susan in the center. The food was set out on the lazy Susan and we each had a glass of sweet tea. We were seated at a round table with the host, and 2 other parties whom we did not know.

Kevin explained the history of Miss Mary Bobo and the family dining tradition. The food is all you can eat. On the lazy Susan, there was a chicken pie dish (think pot pie minus the veggies) fried pork chops, fried okra, baked apples soaked in a jack Daniel's sauce, green beans, rolls, a corn salsa, mashed potatoes and some condiments. The food was delicious! The pork chops were the best restaurant pork chops I've ever had. For dessert we had a carrot cake with a cream cheese icing. The cake was also delicious.

I really enjoyed the table talk and history of the property. Kevin was an amazing host and we enjoyed his company. We also learned about the program they offer for the local community college students. We met 2 students who told us their education plans.

The restrooms are nice and clean. There is an elevator for thos who need it to get to the 2nd floor which is where you check in. The property itself is also beautiful and we went and saw the spring on the first floor. I will definitely make plans to return when we are back in the area.”

“local man who got into cake & candy that includes Jack in the ingredients after he retired. Very friendly gentleman who operates this in a building next to his home. Very informative on how it all began as well as letting u look around how its made. The sign is one on the main road as u approach Jack Daniels so watch for it & take the half mile detour and check it out, plus the tour is free, and his cake & candy is unique.”

“loved it! We were in Lynchburg and wanted to grab dinner before we left. This was the closest open restaurant to our location. They really know how to handle their meats! So good that my kid voluntarily ate pulled pork for the first time in his life. As soon as we walked in, I knew it was going to be awesome. You don't get that kind of decor for nothin! <3”

“Very impressed! You wouldn’t think you’d find a good Chinese restaurant in a tiny town in Tennessee. But this place is legit. The staff is super friendly and polite. We ordered the Chicken Lo Mein, Vegetable Delight, Fried Dumplings (Pot stickers) and Scallion Pancake. Everything was fresh and tasted great. If you happen to be in Lynchburg, TN and want good Chinese food, be sure to check this place out. You won’t be disappointed.”

“Rooms were clean. Staff was attentive and helpful. Had a small issue with which cabin we had reserved. Spoke my peace and moved on. It's small, but the the cabin was well air conditioned. Plug outlets are worn out. Try and plug something in and it falls out. Definitely in need of replacing. That was it. We had phenomenal weather. Our vacation was awesome. Looking forward to next year. And you HAVE to hit the Blue Gill Grill. Great food, great service, awesome time.”

“Tried another place in town. Sat there for like 10 minutes. No one came, tried this place out... Homerun. They were quick to get us the initial stuff (chips, drinks etc) cheese dip is great. The werent stingy on the margaritas with too much ice, the layout and vibe is way better... this will be our new go to for mexican food in tullahoma. Fo.sho. lol”

“@Sunchaser Market Shelbyville ... I dont know the young man who worked the cash register this morning Sunday, Feb25 I got a sausage bsct, a coke and $20 gas. He was so helpful at the gas pump ... He even came out to tell me that the pump doesnt stop itself... And then came out again to give me the penny when i stopped it on 19.99 just short of my last $1.... Integrity and honesty are in short supply these days, but are so very appreciated . i just hope you know how much a young man like that is worth ...and I pray that his genuine character never changes and that it takes him as far as he dares to dream.🏆 🙏”

“Chris was great. He took our order very professional. The whole time he was making sure we felt comfortable and satisfied. After we had our meal and were seated, Chris came by to make sure we had everything we needed. He also tidied up the dining room while he didn’t have other guests. “Hailey was our server and she was amazing!! The black lady that cooked our food did a great job on the food. However, she has the worst personality towards everyone that walks through the door and to the servers. It began when I walked through the doors. I smiled/acknowledged her and she never spoke or smiled back. She looked as though she hated her job and that customers were just a nuisance. After she finished cooking our food, she sat down to play on her phone. When more customers came in, she sat there on her phone while Hailey had to call the order to her there. She looked mad to have to work, then stood up and shoved her chair in loud. Right in front of the customers that had just placed their order. Another employee that was off duty came in to ask a different younger sever if she would like to let her have the weekend shift. While they were discussing it, the cook turned around (in front of a pretty much packed house at that moment) and talked down to the younger server and making a scene when it already sounded like the two employees had already worked the shift situation out. You could tell that both employees were caught off guard and embarrassed by the cooks actions. The cook then called the younger server out about not assisting the customer that just sat down at the counter and was waiting patiently. She did this loud enough everyone could hear. This cook definitely needs retrained on what is acceptable behavior in front of the public and how to be a better team player/teacher to those working with her. I hate to leave a negative review because Hailey was such an awesome server and the only one to speak when coming through the door. However, no one should have to work with that amount of disrespect. Especially in front of customers!! Cook… do better!!”

“I order from here weekly, and they usually get everything right with the sandwiches. The place is clean and the staff friendly. I usually ask to have the cut my sandwiches into several sections, but that request is usually ignored ? . I order through the app and it always gives the option to tip there but I wait to pickup my items first to check quality because who wants to tip someone for outstanding service if they can't follow directions.”

“In years past Captain D’s in Tullahoma has struggled with their inventory. Every time I came in they were out of something. Sometimes it was baked potatoes, or cocktail sauce. One time it was tea and another it was ketchup. Ketchup? Who runs out of ketchup when fries is a staple on your menu?! Well, McDonalds in Tullahoma, but that is another review. However, lately Captain D’s has stepped up and they have everything in stock and available. This visit they were out of green beans🙄. In their defense it was an evening visit. The food was very good. My regular is the Salmon. I’ve gotta get those Omega 3 ‘s. It wasn’t perfect, but even the top restaurants tend to overcook their seafood. The best veggie by far is the corn on the cob. It arrives very HOT and in a bag to keep it that way. The butter is refrigerated so I peel their lids and turn them upside down on my cob and let the heat melt the butter. Every 30 or so seconds I rotate the cob until it is richly buttered. It’s very sweet and fresh tasting. Peaches and cream corn can not hold a candle to this! Even in the dead of winter, this tastes garden fresh! Stop in and just order a corn on the cob, or add it to your fish and chicken meal. If you are a fan of corn on the cob, you will love what the Captain has to offer. Be sure to get plenty of napkins, you are going to need them.

“Listen, I’ve never had a bad experience at Zaxbys Tullahoma, but whoever is in the kitchen tonight deserves a raise and a half! That food slapped harder than your grandmama when you talked back! I had to pull over and give Jesus a praise break! Those fries were crispier than your uncle’s Easter suit.”
