I actually really enjoy ordering from this place. Never had a problem with the food or the service until the last time I was in there, I was ordering my food to go and I asked the girl behind the. Register how they do their tips. Do they all split it? I would like to tip accordingly. She pointed at the owner, I said, are you serious? The owner gets all your tips. The owner then turned towards me with a snarky. Remark, all aggressive, telling me that she uses that money to pay her employees. So not only do they have high prices for the food, which I thought was to help pay for their overhead, and their employees turns out that the owner is just greedy and keeps all the money for herself.I will still continue to eat here, but I will no longer be leaving a tip

This is my favorite Japanese restaurant. The food is excellent and the employees are very friendly.

We are extremely disappointed with the service we received today. Upon our arrival, the lady greeted us rudely by saying, “You finally came.” Additionally, the gentleman who took our order was also rude. It took an unreasonably long time for our food to arrive. When the gentleman server was placing the plates down, he swatted at my son’s hand and said, “That’s his.” While he may have intended it as a joke, it crossed a line and was unacceptable. No one should touch my son. Overall, our experience was very disappointing, especially at a place we once enjoyed. We will not be returning.

Do you like pin bones in your salmon? Are you looking for a place that has old , tasteless, sketch looking Tuna? Have you ever had a really bad salad and wondered if there could possibly be a worse one somewhere else? Does picking up silverware and feeling grime encase your hand excite you? Come on down to Sakura in Maryville TN.

Well yesterday my girlfriend suggested we give it a try, and that was the beginning of the nightmare.

Eventually we get an order of 3 rolls for $15-16 (on paper, and in that moment it seemed like the world's best deal), and then my gf got a specialty Tuna roll that was about $12.

My Alaska roll had pin bones in 3 out of the 4 pieces I tried. After biting into two in the first, I figured there couldn't possibly be any in the rest. Well I was wrong, and then the third one was fine, and then I was wrong again. The tuna was not good. The salad was just iceberg lettuce with some dressing that had an off taste, maybe it just wasn't for me. It was free so I'm not upset about the salad, I do wish I saw a review about it beforehand so I could politely decline it.

The roll to the right of my plate was okay, but after everything else I just didn't have an urge to eat.

I was asked 3 times if I'd like a box. I said no I won't be eating it.

I had pushed the plate away and was clearly upset by it. No question on how is it, is everything okay, pin bones were visible. It's not even like it was crowded and they were short staffed.

Neither of the two employees (host and several) were friendly, or did anything to make it a positive experience.

I entered hungry, left hungrier, and about an hour later (around 12:30pm) my stomach was upset for the rest of the day, and I felt generally unwell and had no appetite for dinner.

On the bright side I only wasted $33 and an hour or less of mine and my girlfriends time. Life could be much worse, a dining experience probably couldn't be.

As is stands I won't be going back, and I won't ever suggest it to anyone (even my mortal enemies and arch nemesis).

My girlfriends roll was mediocre, the sauce on top didn't seem like a good match for the roll, but the roll looked nice and there wasn't anything wrong. 5/10

I don't feel great writing this, as this is only the 3rd unpleasant review I have ever left. It was also the third time I didn't tip, as the service was rude and 2/3 of my food wasn't edible.

I would have left $8-10 if they were: remotely pleasant, asked how the food was, apologized for all the pin bones, or just literally the smallest amount of effort conceivable.

Oh well.

Score breakdown:

reasoning was it wasn't edible

while it wasn't good, we did receive both food and water that we had politely requested

reasoning, I just wanted the numbers to increase by one aesthetically, more accurately it would score a two. Very cramped, didn't exude a vibe of cleanliness, felt unwelcome, and eventually miserable

It is always a pleasure to eat here. Great food and service at a good price, so I can't ask for anything more.

Me and my girlfriend frequently come here for their sushi. They have really great prices and serve quality food. We get the 3 sushi rolls for $15, considering many other places would charge $10+ for one roll this is amazing. Great workers, always greeted with smiles and warm greetings. Atmosphere isn’t the best in the world but they are in a strip mall, and there isn’t much space to work with. Overall really good experiences every-time we’ve been.

A quaint, Japanese cuisine restaurant. The staff are friendly, efficient and fast service with reasonable prices.

Eh. I don’t think I’d come back. Service was fine. Prices are pretty good.. but food was meh. Scallops were very gritty (not washed correctly). Steak was way over done. I also got one roll, which was okay.. the salad was just some iceberg with a large plop of something that resembled Ranch.

I don’t get sushi often as I have a seaweed and cucumber allergy but every place I have gone has a substitution or can take it off, me and my friend went here thinking it’d be like that as well the young woman at the counter was extremely nice and this is not about her but about the older woman who was EXTREMELY rude to me and my friend telling us she couldn’t or just wouldn’t take these things off while the young woman is explaining they can do a soy wrap instead of the seaweed and recommended me a sushi roll i absolutely loved if I didn’t have manners unlike the older woman raising her voice and speaking down to me as for some reason MY ALLERGIES where an issue for her I probably would’ve raised my voice back but you just don’t do that someone needs to sit down with her and tell her she’s being a rude cook/waitress whatever let’s pray she doesn’t interact with customers often because if I want sushi again you bet everything I will go somewhere else, unfortunately she’s made me feel entirely unwelcome here and her actions unfortunately reflected badly on the entire establishment.I am unaware if they even took the care to separate or sanitize items before preparing my food as even tho it was good it gave me extremely sharp stomach pains as if I was still ingesting trace amounts of seaweed and cucumber.

Dietary restrictions: The older woman was very rude when i explained I unfortunately cannot have seaweed or cucumber as it will make me very sick and if I ingested too much could even be a hospital visit thankfully the younger woman the the register explained that they DO have substitutes for seaweed wrap she was extremely sweet and I feel bad as she seemed to be the polite one. as well as me still getting sharp stomach pain shortly after eating which thankfully didn’t last long which leads me to believe the utensils and other items where not properly separated or sanitized that has come into contact with my allergens.

I really wanted a hibachi grill entertainment, but there are not many in the area. It was a great alternative.
