We were recommended here after the Hyatt rooftop was closed for a private event. It was crowded. Reminded me of my fraternity days. It was also the weekend before Halloween so I'm sure that was part of the reason. Drinks were ok. Service was great and tried as much as they could to help you as fast as they could. We manage to get a seat at the bar that really helped speed up our order. We did not try the food. It was loud. This is a let's go out to drink kind of place in my opinion. Fun Younger crowd.

I went to Barware the first time last week for downtown dining week. I try not to leave negative reviews. It's a hard industry. I've managed a restaurant before. But it seemed wholly disorganized for such a small space with few tables. I will say the space is very nice! But the service was incredibly bad and soured the whole experience.
It started off rough as the hostess seemed exasperated that we would show up. She did not want to clean a table for us and told us to sit at a bar. When we hesitated because a table would be more comfortable, she told us that we could have a table but we would have to wait. We decided to sit at the bar. The bartender was nice and took our orders after a time. It took about an hour for us to get soups/salad. Other patrons were chatting and we realized they were not getting their soup or salad. We continued to wait for our food...and wait...and wait.
During that wait there was no check-in, no sorry for the wait, no attention paid whatsoever to us. In fact, most of the bar started to realize we were left to flounder, as food started to get served to tables that came after many of us at the bar were seated.
The bartender seemed to be oblivious or willfully trying not to let us get his attention. We in fact had to ask where our food was after waiting for 2 hours for a set menu for downtown dining week. He would only tell us that they were working on it and that it was odd. They seemed wholly unprepared on a menu that they set.
What was more incredible was someone at the bar got seated next to us after about an hour in, by himself, and he was served his soup and salad quicker than other patrons at the bar who were seated ony 10 minutes after us. They still waited on soup and salad.
It seemed there was a complete lack of organization and care into the food service. It was ridiculous that there was no hospitality. Waiting on food is one thing, waiting without updates or any hospitality is another.
The food finally came out but they were sending dishes to the wrong people in the wrong order. Strangers were telling the employees that the food should not be theirs it should be the guests further down the bar who were waiting longer. It was a disaster. All the while all the tables were receiving their food first and quickly.
The food when it came out was acceptable but nothing to write home about. Definitely not worth wasting an evening of downtown dining week where you can try restaurants to see if you like them.
To add insult to injury they charged an automatic gratuity to the tab, and then after you receive your card back you realize that they tacked on another credit card fee.
Quite unfortunate for such a nice space.

B WARE .. I feel like I need to keep this place on the DL so it doesn't get mainstream. I thought they only had those fancy craft cocktails. WRONG. I had to order their downtown dining menu twice. Licked my plate! Had to refrain from ordering another bottle of cab. I might have to go back again tomorrow. Great night.

I came with some friends for downtown dining week since they had a prefixed menu for a good price. The waiter had told us to sit at the bar because she had to bus some tables and insisted we sit at the bar instead of wait on a table. The bartender was nice. I don’t drink alcohol, so I didn’t get a drink. Got there around 6 and ordered close to 6:10. We got our appetizers around 6:37, but we noticed that our entrees were not coming out after 30 minutes. a group of older white people walked in a bit later after my group, was sat at a table, and they were served promptly with their appetizers, entrees, and dessert before we got our entrees.
At this point, everyone at the bar hadn’t received their entrees or their apps. For many, they were sitting there for over an hour without being served their first course. We asked the bartender and waiters about the status of our food and they said the food was coming. I felt like I was in hell’s kitchen when teams aren’t sending out dishes at the pace they need to be at. Finally, at 7:57, my group received our entrees. I was not impressed. My pasta and my friends’ miso braised ribs were lukewarm and tasted like they were sitting over a hot plate for a while.
Dessert came shortly after that. I didn’t even take a picture of it because of how disappointed I was. It was good, but cannot salvage the damage that was done.
Then came the check. Automatic 20% gratuity and credit card fee applied on top. With the service of my meal and my first experience here, I do not believe it was justified. I understand if there was a short staff issue or mismanagement, but that is no excuse if tables are getting their full menu before people at the bar get their first course. I will not come back, and as a poc myself, I warn others not to go.

Came for downtown dining week and got their deal. The drinks came fast ($5), but the food took a bit. Had waited for almost two hours for our entree; the menus were prefixed. Some others had waited for an hour and half and hadn’t gotten their salad or soup. There were some tables around us that arrived after us, but got their meals first. It appeared the majority of the white tables around us got their food first while the people in the bar waited. Food was good, portions not bad, but not worth the wait time. The bartender was trying his best but the gaslighting was not it. Additionally a 20% gratuity fee was added as well as a credit card fee. None of these were mentioned prior. Usually bars and restaurants will have signs letting people know on their walls or menus or beforehand give a heads-up. Will not be going back.

Stephens was my server and he is seriously the best! He was very intentional about making sure that I had everything I needed and checked in with us often. All in all a great place to have fun with your friends and the servers.

I hated my experience! I used to love this place but it is not the same anymore. Bartender left us and the bar is unattended for 20 minutes for cigarettes break!
