Sat in the bar (high top). Our first time eating here. Pretty much everything was the bare minimum of acceptable with the exception of the food ... the food was horrible and for the price we paid we don't plan on going back.

This was the worst experience ever. We arrived at 7:15 and was told that we had to wait until a party of 23 people get seated and then they will seat us. Once seated we were told that the waitress didn't want to serve two people. Then we were moved to a table where there was 7 people seated. So after being seated we waited another 45 minutes to get a waitress to which she took our drink order. Then once she returned with the drinks. This is around 8:00 pm our entire table order was taken. During this time we noticed that the party of 23 Caucasian had received there entire staff and meal being prepared. While the table of 7 African American only got the entree no other service. Then the manager came out at 8:25 apologizing stating that the tickets got switched around. Stating that he will have someone out in 7 minutes which became 8:45. Still no food being prepared but a lot of excuses. I will never forget this horrible service and the inconsistencies with the management and their staff.

Worst experience ever. Made reservations came 15 minutes early was seated waited 2 half hours still no food. The host was horseplaying with YN's in the lobby area. Manager was horrible we had to eventually just leave the building with no food

What a HOT MESS & it started before I even got there. 15 minutes before my reservation I get a very informal call from the host asking if I'm still coming and she just wanted to make sure. When I arrive there are 5 tables fully seated with not a a single worker in sight . After about 10 minutes , a chef shows up to one table and begins their service . Our waitress greets us , takes our drink orders, we don't see her again for another 30 minutes to take our orders , still no drinks! It took an hour for 2 alcoholic beverages and the rest were sodas! By then one table had had enough, they were extremely upset and began walking out . During this time, there are zero workers to be found . Nobody checking on tables, nobody making sure the guest are comfortable, nothing! Then a manager is seen slowly walking around just walking though & when asked about the service she states “we had over 200 reservations today, we're just backed up.” Our waitress finally brings soups and salads , 3 other tables still completely bare ! We don't see our waitress ever again ! After 2 hours of waiting , me and my super hungry toddler had had enough and had to go ! There is no term to put on this failing business ! It's a monstrosity! From management to the service , this place is chum bucket !

The only reason this review got as high as it did was because of our attentive waitress. Wish I could remember her name but she was extremely nice and 7-8 mths pregnant. The same issue plagued this place everytime I've been in past 2 years they're always short chefs. Probably due to a jacked up tip ratio share. Wait times are always crazy. I reserved a table at grill and told it would be an hour wait at least so we got the far less experience of just the finished food coming I the table. Lack luster

Its a great restaurant to celebrate with friends and family. They give fantastic service and the food was great. I will come back again. The chef was very nice and didn't take long with our food.
Dirty place Plates were stained and disgusting ...floors is dirty with rice all over them ...the grill was dirty and not clean..table was sticky The minute we saw the dirty plates with stained on all of them we left and we wil never be back Banihana was the best hibachi place in Memphis in the past Very disappointed and will never be back even my kids noticed now dirty the place was

We went to Benihana to celebrate a birthday, hoping for the full hibachi experience. Unfortunately, the hostess informed us there would be at least an hour wait due to only having three cooks available. Instead, we were seated at the bar—far from the experience we had anticipated, but we accepted it.During our meal, a loud altercation broke out between the hostess and a patron, involving shouting and profanity. The situation escalated to the point where the manager had to intervene and escort the hostess to the kitchen, passing directly by our table as she continued yelling obscenities.Despite the disruption, the manager never approached any guests to offer an apology or check on us. We quietly asked for the bill and left.

Went in for birthday lunch with a friend, I allowed 1.5 hours for this, 2.5 hours later, we were still there, and my entree (chicken) was given to someone else at our table. After being there an hour longer than I'd planned, there was no time to wait for the chicken. I used to absolutely love this place, but it not the same place at all. Won't ever be going back...so disappointed!

Fun dinner out. Love the expanded menu since we were there last. Ahi tuna was seared perfectly. Wiygul soecials, fall drink specials. It was a bit loud due to being busy. Will go,again.

My experience was horrible when I first arrived. I made reservations for 7:30pm we didn't get seated until 8:30 pm. I simply asked the hostess a simple question and she immediately got defensive and smart. I requested to speak to someone who knew how to speak to guest without getting rude. Another Host appeared and seated us very quickly and was very helpful. Our chef was awesome very polite and catered to our needs.
