Hattie B’s Hot Chicken - Memphis

I was in town for meetings with the nonprofit I work for, Carpenter Art Garden and we had an executive lunch here. Apparently our Executive Director eats here very often and loves it. I really liked the wings, the collard greens, and the grits.
However, please note, that if you are lactose intolerant like me that it might not be such a good idea to eat the greens and grits at the same time ??.

Nonetheless, the food was amazing, service was amazing, and I am sure the next time I come back in town that we'll be going back.

TN gots delicious chicken.

A work trip brought me to Tupelo via Memphis so before rolling into Mississippi I made sure to eat my first Nashville hot chicken (in Memphis). Our counter service was fast, friendly, and helpful.

I ordered the most popular item - three jumbo tenders, pimento Mac and cheese, and fries. Specifically I got 2 tender medium and one hot. The medium is the perfect level of heat and flavor. The hot wasn’t much hotter to me but the extra dry spice added to the exterior added a slightly tartness that was a negative to the flavor profile. The pimento Mac and cheese was the star. Creamy and cheesy, I could have eaten two portions. Make a bowl of that topped with spicy tenders and you’ll be in southern heaven. Fries were fries but seasoned well. Ice tea is always better the further south you go. This was no exception.

We wrapped this up with a super sweet, meringue topped banana pudding. It was high quality and delicious but the kid in me prefers the process hospital pudding in the #10 can.

The food is very good, but could your business please use the paper sleeves or containers for orders of fries. I had three orders for delivery......two chicken plates, both with two sides and a separate order for two fries. Why did you put each order of fries in our chicken plates? It was a totally separate order that should have been in a container by itself and not assumed to be an add on to the chicken dinners. I don't like my fries mixed in with fried chicken anyway, so please stop!!! I had to give the person their money back because their fries was under my chicken in a box.

This chicken is so good that I drove 4 and a half hour to get it. The chicken is made to order and it’s all ways fresh, juicy, and full of flavor and spice. I could eat this chicken everyday. All I can say is that HATTIE B’s know how to make chicken……. And make it consistently the same way every time. We drove 4 1/2 hours to just go eat there. Soon as we got there we went straight there, got a room, spent the night, woke up the next day, and went back to get some more chicken.

The whole environment of appreciation was like 5 star customer service. No line! No wait! Clean and friendly. Good vibes! Upmost maturity too.

The food was great. But they had lost young kids working there. And the songs they were playing was a bunch of rap songs. What's not appropriate for a family restaurant

Best Hot Chicken period. Highly recommend if you can fit it into your schedule. Perfectly cooked chicken, with various heat depending on your preference. Chicken sandwich or chicken tenders, crinkle cut fries. Do not miss.
