We love this restaurant! Our dinner restaurant of many years. When in Memphis we always plan for at least a dinner here. The ambience is pleasant - it's clean, doesn't appear dated. You get a whiff of the wonderful spices they use as you approach the building. Our wait for a table has never been more than a few seconds. The wait staff is clean and neat. Always ready to answer questions about the extensive menu. Consistently excellent food. Everything we've had has been excellent. I don't think I could pick out a favorite. I usually have a lamb or seafood with medium spice. The husband often has something vegetarian or chicken with mild spice. We recommend the samosas for an appetizer which comes with 2 sauces. He prefers onion kulcha as his bread, I like the poori. For dessert the mango ice cream can't be beat - so creamy. The rice pudding is also excellent. Perfect ending to a spicy dinner. The service is top notch, attentive but not overwhelming. Drinks are refilled as needed. Portions are adequate, I usually need a "to go" box. We highly recommend if you're in Memphis and want a relaxing dining experience of good food.

This is one of my all time favorite restaurants. Their food is so delicious every single time. It's a bit pricey, but it's absolutely worth it. The service is also so incredible-- everyone is very friendly and helpful. I'll never stop going here!

I am new to Memphis and am looking for my new "favorite" restaurants. India Palace definitely fits the bill! The customer service was exceptional and fast. I wasn't sure what I should order because it all sounded so good. I asked for a recommendation from the waiter, and rather than just randomly picking something, he asked a few questions to determine my preferences and then suggested the lamb Korma. It didn't disappoint! Perfect taste and spiciness! It is a very welcoming place, and I will definitely be going back!

SUPERB!...The best Indian food I've ever had in Memphis. Even better than Germantown's excellent Mantra Grill. Better than Mayuri at Quince + Kirby, certainly. And vastly better than Taste of India at Poplar + Mendenhall, where the mediocrity of their food is disguised by aggressively flaming spiciness. My wife and I went to India Palace for an a la carte dinner, having enjoyed their buffet on prior occasions. I had the perfect dish for someone seeking to sample the menu: their prosaically named 'Non-Vegetarian Dinner.' Two very fine chicken dishes, surrounded by a variety of sauces, plus Basmati rice and exceptionally nice raiti. My main squeeze enjoyed coconut chicken korma: outstanding. Toss in some naan bread--theirs is first-rate--and their really terrific ice-creamish dessert, and you have a feast. A most flavourful meal, not burdened by the excessive spiciness many Indian restaurants serve by default. No, Indian food does NOT "have to" be hot. Terrific service, too, from "Binder," whom I take to be the manager. In an age where quality customer service seems to be ever-more elusive, it was great to have Binder's brand of simple, mannered, traditional good service. I had to schlep my wheelchair in, and staff were most gracious about moving chairs, etc. to accommodate. I like their big open room. Just enough Indian ambience to be convincing, but they stop well short of "trying too hard." It ain't cheap. (What Indian restaurant is?) But prices are reasonable. It's a relaxed enough place for a casual dinner with friends...nice enough for date night. These guys definitely know what they're doing. A dinner worth more than we paid. Try them out--you'll enjoy! Certainly we'll be back.

Friends and I enjoyed lunch at India Palace. We ordered from the menu. All the servers were so nice and accommodating. We really liked the aloo tikki appetizer. We ordered the non vegetarian dinner. Oh my! Where do I begin? Everything was spot on! Best Indian food I’ve had in the US in a long time! The mango lassi, Palak, paneer, mango and pistachio ice cream, veg samosas, lamb curry, chicken biryani…yum… nothing disappointed… Did I eat too much?! Hmmm… The ambience was cozy and perfect for a quiet conversation with good friends over dinner. I’ll be returning on my next visit to Memphis without a doubt.
