Im so disappointed to read all the reviews. Now I have to add one more. What happened to this place? Unprofessional workers must hate their jobs. They treat customers horrible. Orders aren't correct after you get home. Food under cooked or its cold and been sitting there for way too long. Chicken is dry and has no taste. It's just sad. This place used to be a wonderful place to get chicken, livers, and the famous steak sandwich. Im embarrassed because I've told so many people visiting Memphis that they have to try the steak sandwich at least once for it to be horrible. There is nothing like spending hard earned money to throw it away. Is the owner still alive? I just have a hard time believing he would let this place go to hell. It's really sad. I guess it's like the rest of Memphis. That's for another post. Fix the problems or close down. Stop wasting peoples money and time. #disappointed

All I can say is that it was just okay. My disappointment was I ordered a three piece DARK dinner. When I got to the window, the lady asked if I ordered a four piece with wings etc. I told her no and told her what I ordered. It's my fault that I didn't check my order because when I got home and opened the box, it was a three piece WHITE dinner and it was a little dry! It was not same chicken that they usually served. I'm a little disappointed but it's okay. My fault for not checking.

Waited 10 minutes and paid 15$ for some gas station grade barely seasoned chicken, unsalted fries, and the dinner box didn’t even come with a drink so I had to pay extra. Just go to Zaxby’s or something….

I'm a big fan of this place. This location can be pretty hard to get into sometimes. The way the Kroger parking lot is, you basically have to come in from Poplar headed toward downtown. If you are coming from downtown, you sometimes can't turn left into Jack Pirtle because of traffic. You cannot access the drive through from the Kroger parking lot coming in off Cleveland. The food is good and the people have always been nice to me. Today the biscuits in my box were raw. First time that's ever happened. I'm sure I could have taken them back, but I just threw them out.

The steak sandwich was too salty. Taste salt in every bite.Vegetarian options: I bought 2 sandwiches and they were so salty my head start .spinning. My husband took one bite and couldn't eat it no more. Tried calling the store line busy. Will take it back tomorrow

Have been going to Pirtles since 70s. Went to one on Cleveland, long drive but one on Highland is gone. Chicken liver dinner was huge disappointment. Livers just little fragments of hard fried pieces. Gravy still good. Steak sandwich not same at all. Like hard country fried steak, had to pull off hard breading to eat, still was tough and dry.. No gravy. 1 tsp slaw..maybe, no pickle. Pirtles please go back to original steak sandwich. And actual chicken livers and not over fried small pieces.?
