JEM Reviews
Perfect spot for a date night. Great food tucked away from the hustle & bustle of downtown. We enjoyed the unique shareable dishes, the cozy atmosphere, and the friendly staff.

My first time dining @jemdining l: Chicken liver pâté, duck breast with vegetables from @memfarmersmkt, and porchetta. All delicious. We inhaled a rich chocolate cake for dessert served with ice cold whole milk. Chef Joshua Mutchnick is off a to a great start. Excellent service from wait staff.

JEM is a family-owned restaurant in Memphis, offering sublime food with individual and shared plates at reasonable prices. The modern decor features tall ceilings, creating a spacious feel. The dishes are deliciously prepared and beautifully presented in a cozy and convivial atmosphere. The service is knowledgeable, polite, and friendly, with the co-owners often interacting with guests. Incredible dishes like kimchi arancini, gnocchi, and pork coppa have become favorites among locals and visitors alike. The desserts, including the "not to be missed" waffle mousse cake, provide a perfect complement to the menu.
Guests have praised the pickled veggies and the buttery redfish, while the ambiance is noted for its low lights, exposed brick, and quiet charm, making it a perfect spot for a date night. The restaurant also offers a fantastic bacon-wrapped chicken liver as a standout starter, and a juicy, flavorful burger cooked to perfection. The bartender, Luke, is highly knowledgeable and provides a comfortable and elegant atmosphere at the bar. The chef's limited menu features delicious specialty dishes, including the arancini, short rib, and eggplant. The matzoh ball stuffed chicken and the 24-hour short rib adobo are also highly recommended. With a dedicated parking lot, JEM offers a calm dining experience away from the hustle and bustle of downtown.
