I frequently order from this restaurant on Mondays when I’m in the office, but today’s experience was extremely disappointing due to the cashier’s attitude and poor service. Today, I placed an order for four sides, and my coworker placed a separate order. One pickup time was 11:19 and the other was 11:24. I arrived around 11:40. The cashier came from the back and just stared at me. I told her I was picking up orders #7 and #8, and she looked confused, which was odd since the restaurant is clearly listed on Toast. She spoke with the cook, who said the greens were still cooking and the wings would be ready in about 10 minutes. I said okay and sat down to wait. 10 minutes later, I saw her bagging an order. She turned around and said the wing order was ready. I told her that was fine and that I’d pick it up once the other order was ready since it was already sitting there. She immediately got an attitude, aggressively bagged the order, and pushed it to the side. While I was checking the bag, I heard the cook say, “Here are your yams.” If her attitude hadn’t been so nasty and rushed, she would have realized an item was missing instead of trying to push the order out. When I went back to get the yams, both she and the cook were standing behind the kitchen window, and she stared at me as if she was ready to argue. To make matters worse, once I got back to work, the greens were not fully cooked. Between the rude customer service, missing items, and undercooked food, this experience was terrible. I will not be eating here again.

I was ordering and they have bad attitudes when taking the order
I saw Perch 74 on Live at Nine this morning and had to stop by. The service was warm and welcoming. Jordan and Elise were friendly and attentive, making the experience even better.
I tried the Pan Seared Salmon Sliders with remoulade, bacon, lettuce and tomato, and the Beef Birriadilla with cheese, avocado salsa, and sour cream. Both were absolutely delicious. The fries were perfectly seasoned, and the chocolate chip cookies were the perfect sweet ending.
I also met Chef Rogan, whose passion for fresh, handcrafted food really shines through. I learned about the Purpose and Calls program, a partnership with the City of Memphis and Mayor Paul Young. It provides youth with summer jobs, training, and valuable experience through businesses like Perch 74. It’s a wonderful program that benefits the youth and the community.
I’m looking forward to coming back for Soul Food Mondays. Great food, great service, and a great mission. Perch 74 is a true gem!
