STIX Express Downtown

We have been travelling in the States for two weeks and stumbled across Stix - great place with really fresh delicious food - a great change from burgers. Couldn’t recommend them any higher. Well worth the visit. Would give them six stars if possible.

It was ok, nothing to brags about. I had better... ...but the staff was friendly.

For context, I am a career professional with almost 34 years focused on the customer experience.

I love hibachi, and have been looking for a spot since I moved to town. I live in the area and after an evening walk, I decided to see if there was a restaurant available. I stopped by just before 7pm on Thursday, and the door was locked, which was surprising. Even more so, disappointing, as there was no sign on the door indicating why the restaurant had closed earlier than their posted hours of operation. Not to be deterred, I opted to try again.

I went again on Friday and at 215, I let myself in only to be greeted by an employee who told me they were closed: I referenced the time and the sign on the door and online that stated their hours stated they were open until 230. In conversation with this employee, he told me that the manager had indicated that they were to close early if it was slow; no exceptions. I asked why there was no note posted on the door indicating why they had closed early and was told that was up to the manager. I left my card but to date have not received a phone call.

Communication is the most important aspect of the customer experience. Had this establishment updated their hours of operation online to indicate a flexible end time, or even if they had posted a note on the door alerting customers to the temporary change, that would have gone a long way. Instead, failure to communicate leaves customers wondering and looking for alternatives.

It's like a fast food takeout .You order at the counter. Overpriced for a fast food place. For the prices i could have eaten at the best Sushi hibachi places in town .So, two orders of sushi . One beer & one large sake was $50 . Which is a lot for a place without any atmosphere to it .

Hannah and the rest of the team rock. This was my first time eating here and it was truly a pleasure to stop. The food was hot and fresh and most of all very good. The next time I am in Memphis I will be eating here first. Thanks Hannah!

I love Stix. Food is great. Staff is always there to provide great service and the atmosphere is cool and chill. I eat here atleast once a week. Love the Sushi Tacos, Filet Hibachi and the Beale Street Roll.

The food was terrible. What I ordered was very simple. I ordered a Chicken fried rice with extra egg. And i was brought chicken fried rice with vegetables. So the young lady took the food and picked all of the vegetables out of my food and brought it right back to me. Why would i want you to use some nasty tongs n pick through my food. That was unprofessional and unsanitary. The server didn't know if I was allergic to the vegetables or not. I told her I wanted my money back and she brought me another order. That was very rude cause that's not what I asked for. I will never come to this location ever again. This location is very unpleasant and unprofessional. If you can't give your customers what they want you guys need to close your establishment‼️ The lady at the front register was the only employee that was nice and pleasant.

Stopped before an Orpheum show and will definitely be back. It was fairly quiet which meant we were in and out quickly. Service was excellent.
