The service was good. The food was just okay. We had the Rise and Shine breakfast the eggs were cooked perfect but the breakfast potatoes were terribly over seasoned and not even ketchup helped. We also ordered the cattleman’s sandwich which was country fried steak with white gravy on a biscuit and again it was just okay. They added nearly 45% taxes and gratuity to our bill, thank goodness the service was good. I don’t think I would visit again unless I miss the normal breakfast hours again and possibly ordered something else.

Food was over and undercooked
French toast mushy in middle and omelet overcooked. Chicken sausage was nothing like a link but more like microwaved small packaged sausages..about 1.5 in in length. Terrible. Menu and ownership must have changed since last year. Pancakes thick and fluffy if that's what you like.

Vegetarian options: Omelets potatoes grits

Parking: Paid parking across the street and in the downtown area

Kid-friendliness: Yes

Wheelchair accessibility: Not sure. We walked up stairs

A convenient brunch spot with ambiance and nice staff. The food is mediocre,
however. The grits and biscuits look delicious, but are bland tasting. The omelets are good.

Not the experience I’d hoped for… The place wasn’t busy, but with only 1 person working tables/hosting it was a slow start. The food was not bad, but I was expecting so much more. Will give them another shot during next visit to town.

I went in on my bday for breakfast and I had the best French toast ever! I will definitely go back, the food was fulfilling and every bite was indescribable. The music was nice and set the atmosphere; it was very chill. The service was friendly, but I definitely had to wait. I believe it was one server who I was told was “busy” but it was only maybe 2 other tables who were being serviced and 3 waiting to have their orders taken. Other than that the food made up for how long it took to get my food. It was worth the wait I’d say.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Had to flag someone down to get our drink order. Had to again flag someone down to get our food order. People seated after us got food and finished. Another table seated after us got drinks but left; not sure if they were able to order. 50 minutes later we flagged someone down to ask about our food. Our waiter came and said there was a computer error. This means he didn't put in the order. He said he could retake our order, but it would be behind the other orders already in. Hard pass on that. We talked to a manager but she really didn't seem concerned or offer any assistance. Avoid this place. If you're lucky enough to get food, be aware of the 20% gratuity automatically added per the menu.

Food was DEFINITELY A 9 out of 10 can’t take that away from the establishment but the service was TERRIBLE waited a hour and a half for napkins and ketchup. Never was asked by our server if the food was good or if anything was needed, but I guess that’s what’s expected when gratuity is already added POOR SERVICE.

But GOOD Food.

We went for breakfast on a Sunday and beat the crowd! They definitely get busier as the church crowd and brunch folks start lining up. Food selection was great. Food quality was amazing! Don’t be in a hurry, it takes time for them to perfect their amazing recipes! It’s worth the wait and automatic 20% Gratuity added to each check, regardless.

Showed up at 10am on Sunday. Got seated by 10:08. Order was taken at 10:20. Waited and waited for food. Saw other tables getting their food. Finally asked the hostess since the waiter was nowhere to be found. At 11am we were told there was a "system error" and our order didn't get put in. He could put it in then, but it would go BEHIND all the other orders. Manager offered nothing but an apology. Steer clear.

Terrible service, long wait times and food was undercooked. Cinnamon roll was raw in middle, maybe from frozen? It’s a management issue, for sure

This was such an amazing experience! The employees were so sweet. The food was amazing, and the drinks were definitely on point. I was in town celebrating my birthday, and the shot that the manager made me was the best ever!! We enjoyed it so much, that we came back the very next day

I had an incredible experience at Sugar Grits! The food was absolutely amazing—every dish was delicious and well-prepared. Our server was fantastic, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. We also had the pleasure of meeting the manager, who was equally wonderful and took the time to ensure everything was perfect. Highly recommend this spot for a fantastic experience!

We went in today with our family to celebrate my mom‘s birthday. We had 5 adults and one toddler and we asked for the check to split it was at this point the waiter informed us that check could not be split. However, when I made reference to what it said on the actual menu, which I have attached, it clearly says eight. It was a different one. He was just like oh well it’s six now. This is not good business and I nor anyone of my family or any people that I know will ever eat at this restaurant again.

To much good food around here to waist you time eating here. Service was not the best and the food was marginally better.

The service was awful. We waited an hour along with 6 other groups with open tables due to the kitchen being backed up. When we sat down and ordered, it took another hour to get our food. On top of this, gratuity is automatically added. Last the manager said she would discount our ticket, which never happened. Horrible experience and will never go back or recommend.
