I have to give this place a 1 only because we drove all the way there only to find out they take cash only. Which is okay, I just wished I would have known that before.

This place isn’t the same . They cut back on the meat and cheese just thick bread . The old man at the counter is grouchy. He rushes people to order . The lady making the sandwiches had gloves on but touched her phone and glasses while making the sandwiches.

There is usually a wait just to place your order, however, it is worth the time. The sub sandwiches are all delicious. The bread is slightly sweet, like Hawaiian rolls, and made fresh. The kitchen food is also delicious, if you want spicy they got you.

Waited a few months before I went back to see if they were putting more meat on the sandwiches but it was less meat the second time. They must put more meat on certain customers sandwiches. The meat I've had on my sandwiches wouldn't satisfy a child. Heard several customers paying for more meat. The price is high enough to have to pay extra for meat that should already be on the sandwich. The lady preparing the sandwiches was a little nicer but the older man taking the orders was just as grumpy as ever. Somehow my first post was deleted but hopefully prospective customers will see this one before it's deleted. They need to learn how to take constructive criticism.

Very nice owners/staff, but unfortunately, it's overrated food. Tried the cheese sub and the super sub. Chips are just $0.50 gas station bags of lays and doritos, nothing too exciting there. The bread itself was ok, but nowhere near as good as most of these reviews are trying to get you to believe. Not enough meat at all for a sub of that size, but I suppose that's why they can keep a sub ten dollar price point. Came with a group for the first time after hearing many recommendations, and not one person told us this restaurant was still cash only in our increasingly cashless society. No ATM inside or within walking distance. I'm not terribly disappointed, but not blown away either. If you want a cafeteria quality sandwich and don't feel like opening your own fridge, check it out. --Strong 3.5/10 Doesn't live up to the hype. --

Good sub. Love the dressing and seasonings. Disappointed that the cheeses are processed. Also would like a smaller size option. They only come in 12" or 18". Way too much for one person. They don't take credit cards, only cash. But nice owners and delicious home baked bread. Would come back again.Been a fan since the seventies when it was on Highland. Old school Memphis.
Love the subs here. Best all around sandwich you can get. No frills atmosphere, just dang good food. Just remember to bring your cash!

I was very hungry when me and my wife stopped there cause she said sub shop and I thought we was head to a place like N.Y.P.D.sub station in Milwaukee and all but that JIMMY John sauce alike and the meat was sorta not deli sliced freshest but I'm going to say three star on the efforts they put forth on trying to make it a submarine sandwich contender.
