This Memphis icon is worth visiting at least once in everyone's lifetime. I have been eating here for over 45 years and it is kid tested, parent and self approved with multiple generations giving their paramount endorsed mmm's, ooh's and ahh's the midsouth has ever heard. The Super Sub Shop is, hands down, one of the the BEST of the best sandwich places in and around Memphis!

Turkey with Provolone with everything on it Hot....so dang good!!!! Best sub I’ve ever had....might be the Bread!!!😋
The sandwiches are made fresh with softest and yummiest bread! The vibes match the idea of a hole-in-the-wall place that it is. Will always recommend them for people wanting a sandwich!

Highland Super Submarine Sandwich Shop offers delicious sub sandwiches on freshly baked bread, with a slightly sweet Hawaiian roll taste. Customers love the super egg rolls with shrimp made fresh to order, which are lightly fried, crispy, and filling. The shop is known for its flavorful and fresh ingredients, especially the ham special/combo footlong sandwich, which features soft and slightly sweet bread, and the chicken breast sub that has been a Memphis staple for over 20 years. While they only accept cash, the wait is worth it for the tasty sandwiches and kitchen food options. Some customers wish for smaller sizes and non-processed cheeses but appreciate the nostalgic vibes of this old-school Memphis spot. The shop moved from Highland to Summer Ave but retains the same name, logo, and familiar feel, making it the best sub place in the city over all the chains. Many customers crave the super sub, often finishing a 12-inch in one sitting, and the taste of their bread keeps them coming back.
