Stopped by this dessert shop while visiting Crosstown Concourse. I really like the setup and the offerings the place had when I visited it. They have gelato and sorbet (obviously) but they also had cookies, brownies, and cakes for sale in addition to the frozen treats. They offered milkshakes and drinks too and you could even take the gelato and make a cookie sandwich or float, if desired.

Unfortunately, their machines were down when I visited so they were only able to take cash and I did not have any on me. That's the only reason I gave it 3 stars. I plan to visit again in the future and rate it based on actually trying one or more of their offerings.

The gelato is creamy but very low on flavor. Honestly, most flavors taste like a simple sweet cream flavor. It's hard to even tell them apart. Sometimes you will get a scoop and not find a single morsel of the supposed mix-in ingredient (such as cookie dough).

The gelato is good, the portions are quite large although I think they should have more variety but they are worth it recommended

The service was pretty bad. I felt bad because one lady had to take so many orders working by herself and once her co-worker arrived he was in an unpleasant mood and being rude to the customers. The gelato is not good enough to deal with the unprofessional and bad service. I would give zero stars based on the experience.

The product seems like a good product to me, the service is a little slow but not bad, but it seems like an abuse to suggest tips of 20-25%.

I've been to Magnolia many times, and have had spectacular service time and time again. However, within the past year, they have definite gone downhill. I've experienced bad customer service, product, and terrible experiences. I've been denied straws/spoons, treated in a very disrespectful manner, and overcharged for products I did not order, and scoffed at/had eyes rolled at. While I enjoy supporting small businesses, I would HIGHLY recommend financially supporting elsewhere.

They have 3 vegan options- strawberry, pineapple, and affagato (Gelato topped with espresso). I couldn't decide so I asked for 1/2 strawberry and 1/2 pineapple. Both were delicious! The shop is located inside Crosstown Concourse and they had plenty of seating. The woman working there was very nice. I only wish they had more vegan flavors! There are other ice cream options in Memphis, but this is the only place I've found so far that is close to downtown.

Never had a bad item here. Super delicious gelato.

The kids loved Sweet Magnolias friendly staff & its has a wonderful selection of flavors to try. The Crosstown atmosphere is excellent for artist to get some quick inspiration, the family have a creative hangout or a fun date with the galleries, bars, & performances.

This place is a gem. The owner and workers are wonderful, the seating ambiance is to die for, but the best is the gelato. The gelato is smooth and delicious no matter what you want. Definitely recommend this place 10/10

Absolute best gelato I’ve had. Very creamy. I had the strawberry and the coconut. Coconut was subtle and sweet. Strawberry had a slight tartness. Both tasted very fresh. Boyfriend had the cookie dough and thoroughly enjoyed it. Definitely a place to try if in Crosstown
