My family loved this place. We stopped through to stay at the Smoke House Hotel coming home from a trip and went to the Patio for dinner. It’s a small eclectic space, with live music every Fri and Sat, and the food was good with generous portions. We highly recommend the fried okra and fried pies with ice cream, both were amazing! I grew up in the area and may be over-critical, but we had way higher expectations for the "World Famous Smokehouse"... We stayed in one of the cabins for a week. I cannot speak for the lodge itself, but these cabins are poorly managed. My wife and I have been far more comfortable and rested staying in remote cabins without electricity. I decided to stay here because of all the good ratings on trip advisor. I think their reviews need some serious updating. The place is pretty run down. The rooms are very small. When I checked in the bed looked like the sheets had not been changed. The bed was made. There is no microwave, no refrigerator in the rooms. The rooms are also pretty beat up.
