I love this place. Our server, Elena, is always very friendly and even remembers what we usually order. Every dish we had was great. I recommend the flan for dessert!

Staff were all excellent, pleasant and attentive. Special call-out for Elena, whose service was excellent as well as very charming.
We were 4 colleagues from out of town for a conference, and we all had fun. Would definitely return when next in town.

Fantastic food and atmosphere. Very upscale Mexican restaurant that was pleasing to my whole party. The food was delicious. Quesadilla, ceviche, enchiladas and even the tortilla chips were all wonderful. The rice with the enchiladas was notably fresh and tasty. Very different and better than the vast majority of Mexican restaurants you find in Many other cities. We will be back for certain. Thank you Elena who was a fabulous waitress. So attentive and got everything right and constantly made sure we had water and drinks. Top notch.

Calacas was such a great find during our Nashville trip! Conveniently located right under the Residence Inn Nashville Downtown. The setup inside is adorable and had a cozy, relaxed vibe from the moment we walked in.
Our server, Tom, was absolutely wonderful. He even asked if we had any allergies when ordering, which we really appreciated even though we didn't have any. It honestly showed how much they care about their customers. I don't think I've ever had a restaurant ask that before! He was also super attentive and kept our waters refilled so quickly throughout the meal.
One thing we really liked was the atmosphere. We loved all the fun live music spots around Nashville too, but this was a nice change of pace if you're looking for more of a chill, relaxed vibe where you can easily enjoy conversation during dinner.
We both ordered the asada tacos and they were SO delicious, exactly what we needed. The rice on the side tasted incredibly fresh too, and the tomato and corn mixed into it were the perfect addition. You could tell everything was made with care.
The staff was constantly cleaning tables quickly after guests left, and overall the service was just amazing from start to finish. We had such a wonderful experience and will definitely be coming back next time we're in Nashville!

I came here on a business dinner with a colleague. We only had a goal of finding some decent Mexican food. This place exceeded those expectations. The poblano soup was probably the best Mexican soup I’ve ever had. The tacos, El, Pastor Were to die for. Tap it off with an amazing waitress, Elena, if you have the perfect Mexican food experience. As a point of reference, I’m a Mexican food snob and don’t give reviews like this lightly

We were in Nashville from out of town and came across Calacas since it was near by. The fresh guacamole and salsa trio was a great light lunch. Elena was a fantastic server and gave delicious drink recommendations. I highly recommend this place for its service and atmosphere.

I had an amazing experience at Calacas Mexican Cuisine in Nashville! The food was absolutely incredible—everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. The tacos (especially the al pastor and pork belly) were standouts, and the salsa trio and guacamole were some of the best I’ve had.
The drinks deserve a shoutout too—the margaritas and cocktails were expertly crafted and really elevated the meal. The atmosphere has a fun, modern vibe with a unique Day of the Dead theme that makes the whole experience feel special.
Service (Elena) was friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish, which made the night even better. Overall, it’s a perfect spot for a nice dinner, date night, or drinks with friends.

If you’re in Nashville and want phenomenal Mexican food and excellent service just a couple blocks off Lower Broadway, this is it! Calacas is one of our go to restaurants in Nashville, and we eat here at least once every time we’re in town!
