Good quality and healthy food without any artificial adding. Have taken lamb and it was cooked as I expected! It costed me $18. Definitely could recommend it for those who like Mediterranean food. It’s not a fancy place for celebration and so on. Perfect option for quick stop though.

Overpriced food, rude service. Any other place in that Market would be better.

Ordered the combo plate and substituted gyro for falafel. It was flavorful and fresh. Service was quick and friendly.

How can you serve tasteless, unseasoned gyro meat??? I ordered rice, meat, tabouleh, and it all was tasteless! No flavor, no seasoning, nothing!! Horrible !!

I'm a born & raised Chicagoan who first fell in love with gyros at the age of 10 long before they were as popular as they are today. I ate them weekly (if not daily) all throughout my teens and early 20's. I can say factually that the only sandwiches I've eaten more that a gyro are cheeseburgers and PB&J's. I am fully convinced the gyro meat making process is different today than when I fell in love with them back in the 80's. I believe it has always been a lamb/beef combination, but it seems to me the ratio of lamb was greater back then than it is today. I'm truly starting to believe there may be no lamb at all in gyro meat anymore! Lamb not only makes it more tender, but also more flavorful. I could be wrong, but my taste buds have all but assured me something is different in the gyros meat making process, and not for the better. That being said, I rarely find gyro that I love anymore. Most seem very generic, but when I do, it is likely because of the meat being sliced in thick long strands! IMHO, the thinner the slice, the less flavor it has... which oddly is completely opposite when it comes to my love of deli meats like ham, chicken, turkey, salami and roast beef. The gyro plate found here @ Chicago Style Gyro is unlike any restaurant I've ever encountered in Chicago or ANYWHERE ELSE for that matter. The gyro meat is thinly sliced into chips, placed on a bed of rice, smothered in a tzatziki sauce I didn't really care for and served with pita quarters that didn't look fully cooked. While it looked like a lot of meat, it's really wasn't. To top that off they offer a salad that I've never heard of known as Tabouli. Absolutely not a fan, but maybe it gets better the more you try it. *shoulder shrug* Even my wife who loves all things vegetable didn't like it. SERVICE was okay. Felt like a typical cafeteria line and seemed a tad rushed when asking questions. FINAL THOUGHTS I've been alive over half a century, almost half of that was lived in Chicago and I've never had a gyro plate like this ever! The flavor of the gyro meat was lost in its thinness, otherwise I might have actually enjoyed it. Oh how I long for that first gyro I had on Navy Pier all those years ago! It was made to absolute perfection, thus ruining anything less. 2023 / 33

Chicago Style Gyros is my go-to place to eat at the Farmer's Market. I go in once a week through a decently long walk just to have the gyro sandwich. The staff are excellent and friendly.

Their food is some of the best we have had. My daughter and I are rather pick eaters. We normally have pick up food from several different restaurants. This restaurant is the exception to the rules. Makes things easier.

First of all, stop reading bad reviews about places. Most people leave reviews because they are angry about something and it's probably not the restaurant they went to. This place is solid. The service is great, the food is spot on and the positive energy I get every time I visit is the reason I keep coming back. People with bad attitudes will wear people down who work in the food service industry. But not these guys, everybody here have always been incredibly polite and that kind of love and attention goes into the food they serve. If you like Greek food and Chicago style gyros, then you already know you've found what you're looking for.

Hummus was unforgivably bad. It had the consistency of soup. My guess is chick peas, water then a teaspoon of low-quality paprika on top. The chicken tenders were so dry not even dipping it in the “hummus soup” improved it. My order of 3 small, dry chicken tenders and 1 smaller order of hummus totaled $15.16 BEFORE gratuity. Just awful.

The meal my wife and I got here knocked our socks off. Good portions, fairly healthy, affordable price and most importantly- delicious. The people working were super friendly and accommodating, also. Mos Def worth it!
