Not many patrons when we arrived for dinner, so I was a bit apprehensive about eating here. We were pleasantly surprised with how good the food was. Other than salads, everything is fried, which I dont typically eat, but it was all very light and tasty. Service was fairly quick, not overly friendly waitstaff, but it was ok.
I was craving catfish, so with a handful of choices in the area I decided on Cock of the Walk. I ordered the catfish dinner which comes w/Riverfries (french fries), tasty coleslaw, two nice-sized hushpuppies, pickled onions & skillet bread. As you can see the food came out GBD. The catfish was good, not fishy and had a nice balance of batter to fish, but it was surprisingly underseasoned for my taste. Just ordered, they will nolonger let you substitute the fries. I've always substituted the fries for a baked potato because they are unseasoned. I had to pay extra to get the bake potato. So $30 for a shrimp catfish and shrimp platter. However, the catfish and shrimp is good.
