Friendly staff and quite attentive, and great food, a little pricey but that's expected at an upper scale hotel bar, the burger is almost worth it though. And drinks are also a bit pricey but not any more than most the places on Broadway, beer prices are actually pretty decent with a good selection of local brews available. Definitely one of the most welcoming hotel bars I've been to, and I travel quite extensively. Not my favorite bar by far, but I will rank it one of my top 5 as far as hotel bars go....

Raj is a great bartender, super chill, reasonably quick (I wasn't in a hurry and he was pretty quick despite my laissez-faire schedule), cares about the customers.

Only reason 4 and not 5 is the price. Get competitive, drop just a few dollars! Raj almost brought this to a 5 with his service alone.

I had the Don cocktail, very good flavor combination. Throw it on pebble and it's tiki. Rosemary was quite nice. It didn't list the glassware, so I was expecting an up riff on an up LW, but highball on ice which was just fine.

The free nut platter was pleasant and unexpected. The almond preparation(?) were absolutely awesome, phenomenal absolutely delicious. The corn nuts were okay, like elevated Kentucky. (I don't like corn nuts, just a personal preference, but I ate them all, which says something) The candied pecans were okay but not so good. I'd recommend making those in-house, maybe higher sugar content to get them dryer, because they were wet, and kinda not the best for finger food bar snack, just everything being sticky. (The almonds in oil was understandable) Make the pecans in-house! It'll be cheaper and much better quality, and it's very easy for a restaurant to do this, and they'll be nice and dry, and will last longer. They weren't moldy, but that moisture can encourage it. The almonds were the bomb.

July 2024, when I first sat down at the bar, there was a huge pillar that blocked my view of the bar tenders, but eventually I got their attention, from that point, they were friendly and happy and fun.

I had the burger, besides the cheap iceberg lettuce they used which I removed, it was a great burger.
In fact I enjoyed the fries ? as well. Crispy outside and soft fluffy inside. So good.

Drink wise, I just had pineapple ? juice, so can't comment on cocktails etc.
I did have some Gelato which was great and smooth.

Would I eat at Cumberland bar again, absolutely. It is a little pricey, which is expected with an in hotel location.

Lively lobby bar with a friendly gentleman bartender on Wednesday evening. He went above and beyond to help us have a nice visit.

A nice variety of cocktails available.

Parking: Pricey valet parking- cheaper to Uber there

Kid-friendliness: It's a bar, but kids can sit in the lobby

Wheelchair accessibility: Nice side ramp.

Easy place to kill some time with good drinks, limited food menu, and good service.

Parking: Valet with the hotel and you can get validated for a few hours with free parking (tip your valet...)

The Cumberland Bar was an impromptu spot for us. We went to kill time. The bartender was quick and helpful. He made drinks and got us food in a quick manner. He even made us laugh when he gave us “boujee nuts”. They were delicious. He did make one drink that spilled over when he handed it off. I didn’t mind but I also could have seen him redoing it. I recommend this place but you will pay a higher dollar than other locations.

Kid-friendliness: Would not recommend.

Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp

Bar under renovations. Food was not good. Service at 8pm was very slow. Took 30 minutes to get water and menus. There were 4 servers and a total of 10 customers including our table for 2. Very unimpressed.

I had an outstanding experience at the Cumberland Bar in the JW Hotel. The service was impeccable, and the mixology skills of the bartenders were truly amazing. Every cocktail was a work of art, and the staff was incredibly attentive. A five-star destination for those who appreciate top-notch drinks and service!

I stayed at the JW Marriott a couple weeks ago and had dinner and some drinks at the Cumberland bar. Staff was extremely friendly and gave great recommendations. I asked about places to visit with large groups and they were very helpful. Seems like a lot of locals like this bar which is always a good sign.

Remodeled and it's beautiful on the inside and great location and view

I wish this was a more positive review because the JW Marriott was a great experience and the drinks at the bar were also great. Maybe it was an off night for the bar staff. Neither of the three bartenders (1 female and 2 males) were friendly or seemed like they wanted to be there. They also couldn't have cared less I was a customer there, even though the bar was relatively empty at 7pm. It was to the point I felt like I shouldn't even be there. You're better off at the bar on the 34th floor for excellent views and service.

Great bar in the lobby of the JW. The bartenders are knowledgeable and know how to craft a cocktail! Cheers....

Stayed at this hotel for a trade show recently but found the bar staff to be generally unfriendly. Got an eyeroll from one of the bartenders when I asked for a napkin. Improvement needed here.
