Steak had a good flavor but it was cooked medium instead of medium rare like requested. Manager offered another steak but I said it was ok. I didn’t eat but a few bites of the steak. She said they would make it right. When the bill came nothing was made right. It was disappointing. I will probably try again but it may be awhile.

Very uneven experience… Service was pretty good but there seems to be an issue in the kitchen. I have been to Deacon’s on numerous occasions before and it has always been great. This experience was not ideal…
The apps took absolutely forever to arrive but were fine once we got them (the cornbread is amazing). Our salads never arrived but we were in somewhat of a rush so we let that slide. My wife and I both ordered steak and both were not cooked correctly. My wide ordered hers medium and it came out blue rare. We sent it back and it came back about the same. The manager was there and he was very apologetic and removed the steak from our tab. He took it back and brought it out the third time and, while it was still (!) below medium, my wife just went with it since everyone else at the table was finished eating by this time.
We also ordered a bottle of wine and it was strangely served at a high temp as though it had been stored in a sauna instead of a wine cooler. I know this might seem like a nit-pick but a bottle of wine at a place like Deacon’s isn’t cheap and drinking hot wine is not ideal under any circumstance.
So, all in all, I am somewhat torn. Deacon’s has been a place I have enjoyed for years but something was way off last night. Our friends who were with us had never been before and they were obviously not impressed at all. I doubt they will be back. When you are spending almost $400 per couple, the level of food simply cannot be like it was last night. There are many places in Nashville where you can get an amazing experience for that amount of money. I hope Deacons can get their kitchen issues corrected and get back to the level of excellence where they used to be.

Highly recommend the prime rib sliders - they were my favorite item by far 🙌🏽 Food was pretty good but quality didn’t really match price but was still delish! Drinks were good and service was amazing!

We came to Deacon's for a date night and to enjoy a good meal. However certain menu items were lackluster especially for the cost of the dish. We order the bone in fillet and received it overcooked. We also order the steakhouse bolognaise which was served cold and had to be heated. The mac and cheese lacked any flavor and seasoning. The 50/50 potatoes however were excellent. The service was great and they quickly fixed the issues!

Horrible experience because of the kitchen. For starters the host, manager, and our server were fantastic and they deserve a more competent kitchen. My girlfriend got a raw/purple steak when she ordered medium. It was so raw that she could barely cut into it. I wish I took a picture because it was a joke that the steak made it out of the kitchen. Clearly someone was trying to go fast and just thought they could put minimal effort into it hoping we wouldn’t notice after we’d been waiting for 2 hours for food. Even after the food was corrected it was very average. I wouldn’t worry about eating here you can make just as good of a steak & pork shank at home. Simply not worth the price. I saw how good the reviews were here and was let down by the kitchen just not caring enough.

This could have easily been one of my favorite meals in Nashville, but the cadence from ordering to receiving food was close to 45 mins for appetizer and entree. I commend the wait staff for managing the clearly awry situation well, but the most glaring issue was when the lamb chops finally came out late AND cold. We sent them back and they reheated them, increasing their cook level from medium rare to medium/medium well. Not ideal. I know they are aware that their Valentine’s Day experience was subpar; I hope they can fix their kitchen issues because a set menu for a special occasion with reservations weeks in advance really shouldn’t result in this chaos.

I ordered the butter pecan trout, and the dish I was served was completely different from what is on the menu. Rather than sweet potato hash, I received unseasoned squash and zucchini. I’ve dined here several times before and had a lovely experience, but something was just off this evening, which was especially disappointing on Valentine’s Day. The service and wine made up for the meal, but I likely won’t eat here again.

My second visit here and we were excited to celebrate my husbands 45th birthday because we loved the steak we had in our first visit. This time around we were disappointed. It started off not so good. We were sat right by the front door when there was plenty of seats elsewhere. There was someone taking photographs with bright lights in our faces. Service was really slow. Our table of four spent over $600 on a meal that left us disappointed. The calamari we had as a starter was soggy. The breading was practically off the calamari. My best friends steak was flavorless. My husband said his steak was good. The pork shank I had was not very tender. Mac and cheese was just ok. The Brussels sprouts were good. Overall it just wasn’t the best to spend the kind of money we spent there.

We were very excited for our first visit Deacons as we saw a local food review with very positive results. Our food though, wasn’t even good for an Olive Garde. Pasta undercooked, Chicken was tough as if it was fast defrosted, collard greens were overcooked and over seasoned BUT the cornbread and crab cake was delicious. I wasn’t brave enough to pay for the dry aged steak, I did want to taste it, but the smallest cut was still $78. I’m glad now, based on the other items…I’d probably be disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend this place. It was a great and friendly service, great atmosphere.

To begin with they weren't able to find our reservation. The waiter was polite and nice but the assistants looked like they were having a bad day or if they were mad that we were there. They were out of one of the appetizers that we ordered (Friday 7 pm) ! The other appetizers that we ordered were just ok. The hamburgers were plain and extremely oily. The bone-in ribeye was overcooked. Unfortunately we will never come back to this restaurant. Is just not worth it.

TERRIBLE ALL AROUND! Food was so bad. We had a large group in a private room with a pre-fixed menu. Most of what was served was gross- collard greens were over salted and over cooked, chicken was served raw and without ANY seasoning! Looked like they boiled it. We ended up ordering pasta off the menu just to find something edible, but even that was drenched in sauce and yet still dry. Service was terrible! Someone in our party ended up bussing tables, refilling waters, and such. We asked for a discount due to terrible experience but they refused.

Liam was our waiter, very nice, seemed busy, so wasn’t very attentive, had to flag down other wait staff. 2 items came out cold had to send them back. Manger didn’t charge us for one of the items. All in all it was okay, we will give it another try. We were hoping that one of the managers would have come by and said hello and how was everything, we also flagged one down to let him kmow
