Always a great time at Germantown Cafe! They brought a Jell-O shot for my birthday... Absolutely amazing waitress. Will be back.
Very disappointing food ....slow service with very tepid food and no follow up from service staff. Unable to eat sone items due to excessive salt. Wont return and certainly will not recommend.
The food and table service were exceptional!! Unfortunately our reservation must have been at peak time and we were not seated for 30 minutes past reservation time. The front of house appeared unprepared and overwhelmed. And after finally getting seated, we were beside a very rowdy “limitless” mimosa crowd. Not necessarily the restaurants fault - yet a contributing factor to our satisfaction level.
This was our first time at the Germantown Cafe. The food was delicious! We both said we'd come back and get the same thing again, although I think I will try the crab cakes. Our server was very good...attentive but not pushy or overbearing. It was a great experience and we can't wait to visit again. The key lime pie was divine!!
Service was outstanding and food was efficient and just perfect. We were seared in the bar on a Sunday morning. Cinnamon donuts were great, lemon poppy seed French toast = perfect and crab cake eggs Benedict with Morning cocktails made this a special occasion breakfast. We will be back.
Fair experience. Food quality has sadly gone downhill. Plum sauce on the plum pork has way too thick. Crab cakes looked burnt. Restaurant was mostly empty, which isn't a good sign. It used to be so good, pre-pandemic before the tornadoes. Sadly not what it used to be.
Lovely place with tons of light. Service was great. Appetizer was delicious, burger was good. Brussel Sprouts were very hard, difficult to eat, but tasted good. Will return to try other menu items. Quiet at 11:00 AM, but very noisy by noon.
Once again Germantown Cafe was a delightful dining experience. Burger Week special beyond yummy with amazing pricing! The chocolate torte dessert was sinfully rich and delicious! The drinks are healthy pours -- kudos to the bartender! The dear waitress needed many clones but we were impressed that the hostess and even the manager immediately picked up the slack, getting us drinks, etc. The waitress was great and amid all of the many tables, she had a glowing smile and welcoming vibe. Always top quality food!!
Food was outstanding and Thomas was great! Been a few years since we visited but will be back soon.
This establishment is known for good food and they did not disappoint. However, they now suffer from a common Nashville problem, understaffed FOH. Servers waiting on a ridiculous number of tables and unable to perform check backs or drink refills. The big issue was the ambience. The restaurant is already very noisy but in the cafe where we were seated was a 4 top of very loud patrons. The combination of too much alcohol and enthusiasm led to this table screaming at each other trying to be heard. The other 6 tables in the cafe were equally annoyed but everyone just ate quickly and scurried out. It was quite disappointing that management did not address the issue with the table and allowed the boisterous behavior to damage everyone else's dining experience.

More than a staple for Nashville! I have been coming here nearly since the opened 20+ years ago, then they burned then they reopened. They STILL have everything you love about Germantown; the food is delicious and not absurd Nashville prices, their cocktails are truly delicious and their staff is ever so kind and knowledgeable. It can get loud at lunch and sometimes you have a few out of towners that talk really loudly (we are in the South people, keep it down a bit) but those are nothing to deter you from coming. Not to mention the best damn French Onion soup in the city! They recently added a summer squash fritter, which I had last night and YUM!
Our experience at the restaurant was excellent: both the food & the service. Our only complaint is that the menu items and/or prices shown on their website did not match those on the restaurant menu.
Cinnamon donut holes were good. It the entrees we ordered were incredibly bland. It was hard to believe that eggs dishes described so nice on the menu taste d and fell flat. And the offee was bitter. Wait staff were very nice and the food came out very quickly.
Chef needs to learn how to use seasoning on the vegetables and potatoes. They were quite bland.
Love this place! In the heart of Germantown but still a nice off the beaten path spot for those who know about it. Food is always delicious!
