Charged 26% in random fees, billed us for something we didn't order, took 2 hours to eat and get out, waited 30+ minutes for the check alone, rude waitress, multiple orders messed up at our table, genuinely the all around worst service I've had, took forever to get refills too. Monkey bread was the only good thing about my experience.

Service was awful. The fees that are charged are a scam. Waited an hour after finishing food just to get the bill, and it was all wrong, on top of 26% of extra fees. I get that restaurants charged a fee for large parties, but it shouldn’t be charged if the service was gonna be neglected. I would’ve gave the situation for grace if it was busy, but it wasn’t when we were here. Food was eh, appetizers are better than the entrees.

Had a not so good experience on Valentine's Day, I hate to post this but that was unacceptable
Lovely place but service was terrible. Even though we had a reservation we waited 13 minutes for our waiter to greet us. Barely checked on us and me and my girlfriend was over the lack of attentiveness and service. It got so bad another waiter took our order and told us he doesn’t know where our waiter is. Ps. we didn’t look like everyone else but food was good.

Made an 11:30 reservation, showed up and they had zero tables ready for the other 11:30 reservations. They over booked themselves and so rather than sitting at a table we reserved weeks ago, we had to sit outside for our meal. My food came out luke warm, the only saving grace was the french onion soup.
Cheese plate was lame, just like if I tried to make one at home. no interesting or quality cheeses, the $9 up-charge for “charcuterie” was 6 slices of salami straight from the package, again, something like I would make at home. I like my nuts, don't get me wrong but these nuts were smothered and soggy. Not impressed. Green beans were sad. Crab cakes were good. Other than the crab cakes, I could have had this meal at home for WAY less, tbh. Cheers!
I usually go for happy hour, and it is always amazing! Jason is usually my waiter and he is amazing! I finally got to get my boyfriend there and he enjoyed it !
A local took a few of us visitors to this cafe, and we're so happy she did. We had an amazing lunch and great service. I highly recommend and I'll definitely be back.

Great gluten free burger - loved the spicy pickle chips. The cheese platter appetizer was amazing - enough for 3 or more to share, easily.

Three words: French Onion Soup!!!!! I've eaten french onion soup all over the entire country but this is my favorite yet and I dream about it daily! I've eaten here now for brunch and for lunch and just love the vibe, great menu, great service. It can get a little loud in the restaurant so if you want a more intimate conversation, ask for a bar table, a bit more quiet and very comfortable. Highly recommend. Great walking neighborhood, love shopping this area too!

Another wonderful experience at the Germantown Cafe. We've been going here for as long as they have been open. Like everywhere else, restaurants in Nashville come and go but the GC keeps going and things are always wonderful. There are so many new restaurants in Nashville as we do visit some from time to time, but when we think of a restaurant as "our place," Germantown Cafe is it. The food is consistently great, as is the service. We have been waited on by Karen the last two times we've dined there and she is bright, funny, attentive in just the right way, and efficient. The restaurant is close enough to downtown so you can be almost anywhere you want to be, such as a sports event, concert, or honky tonk, in a matter of minutes. Plus the area around 5th and the Germantown Cafe is filled with little shops and is just a fun place to stroll and visit. I'm always happy to recommend the GC because I know what it's like to find a place that's consistently good and comfortable. And isn't that what we all need a little of nowadays?
Had a party of 8 and it was amazing. The food was ALL incredible. Service is very good. And the atmosphere is also amazing. Really like this place and will be returning.
Note: plenty of gluten free options and kid friendly. The French onion soup is honestly incredible as well. Had to give that a special shout out.

I am a Germantown local and have been reluctant to write this review but… I have tried Germantown cafe multiple times and each time is just as much of a let down. The service is always bad and slow. The plates, menus, utensils are always dirty. The food is extremely overpriced and it is just not good. I’ve tried multiple things on the menu because so many people recommend this place and I genuinely do not know how. It is so bad and I will never eat here after today. It’s a shame because I love supporting local but this place is overpriced, dirty, and gross.

A great choice for a delicious, hearty meal with friends. Downtown feel without being right Downtown. Parking was easy, the bar had nice pours, and the food was just terrific. Add a hospitable atmosphere and top notch service and you've got a great pick for any occasion
