The food was excellent - very fresh and flavorful, the space was open and has high ceilings. Our server was attentive, courteous, and knowledgable. He encouraged us to come by for Friday or Saturday dinner when they have a variety of chef's specials. Will be taking his advice soon! Thank you!
We had an outstanding evening while celebrating a birthday. We were greeted with happy birthday wishes upon arrival. We sat at the bar where we find the service to be top notch. Morgan was our server and he read us specials and made some great suggestions as well. The lemon asparagus risotto with scallops was delicious. My wife's Vesuvius pizza was perfect. The owner even brought out dessert with a sparkler to celebrate my birthday! We love this family run restaurant because they make you feel like a member of their family. We can't wait to return again.
Wow! We were a group of 6 who tried every single dessert, four different pastas, and three pizzas. Every dish was amazing. My MIL said it was the best meal of her life. We will be back.
The pasta was delicious, however, the underside of the pizza was so thin & undercooked that all the sauce and toppings slid off.
Wonderful wonderful experience for sure! We were visiting from Florida and had recently visited Italy. I felt like we were back in Italy from the moment we entered to the minute we left. Food was fantastic, service was great, what more could we ask for. We definitely will go back!
The food and service at Il Forno is nothing short of extraordinary. The handcrafted pastas are cooked to perfection, and the sauces are layered with rich, nuanced flavor that speaks to hours of careful preparation. While every dish shines, the undisputed must-try is the Rigatoni (Cream sauce and black truffle sausage) —delicately earthy, decadently creamy, and finished with shaved parmigiano. Il Forno is more than a restaurant; it's a celebration of Italian craftsmanship and hospitality, and a place that will keep you coming back again and again. We've been there several times and it just keeps getting better with each visit!!
We had pasta, pizza, meatballs and dessert and every bite was delicious. Drinks were also fabulous. We will be back for sure.
We had a lovely dinner with family, we were celebrating our daughter's birthday and the wedding anniversary of her and husband. Food was great, service was great. Overall it was wonderful!
Best pizza in Nashville.
Reserved a table 5 hours in advance. When arriving, hostess was absolutely horrible. Walked away while I asked about our wait, which had surpassed half an hour, told me she wasn’t going to deal with my bad attitude after she had arrogantly asked me if I had ever worked in a restaurant before and I replied yes. Reservation was written down when we ARRIVED on a sheet of paper. Having been in the restaurant business for over 15 years, my goodness. Someone apply for the hostess position for this restaurant. Please.
Host must be the one also in charge of reviews. It takes gulls to speak on behalf of someone, especially when he is wondering what in life made you so bitter. No, my boyfriend was not embarrassed, he wanted to leave the first time the hostess spoke to us so nastily, but I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt and chopped it up to being stressed with bad managing skills, because again, I’ve accidentally employed, and fired, people that speak like this. So if he was embarrassed, it was that we were still having to deal with the treatment of this place. After the hostess mumbled something to a coworker about us, assuming we didn’t understand any Italian, we were rightly offended and left. Easy.
Went up the street to Present Tense, had amazing food and such amazing service. 10/10 would recommend a thousand times! And walking distance from here. A win win outcome for us!

Where to find Italy in America.
As an Italian I absolutely recommend this restaurant, a little secret corner in the city.
What can I say, a very beautiful location, with a minimal and sophisticated style, especially in the evening it makes for a very intimate and elegant environment with all the soft lights.
But let's get to the strong point of this place: THE FOOD.
True Italian cuisine, simple and refined menu, with attention to the smallest details and excellent quality ingredients.
Not to mention the pizza, as an Italian in America I didn't think I would be able to find a pizza that came close to the Italian one, but on the contrary, I ate one of the best pizzas of my life.
Super attentive and helpful staff, very kind and friendly hosts who made us feel as if we were at home.
I highly recommend.

High quality Italian restaurant.
Beautiful and particular location, it's a pizza that you can't always find even in Italy (so good)
I recommend the Mondragone salad.
I have been a customer several times and have tried various first courses…. And what can we say, one better than the other.
Highly recommended
(Super qualified staff, Egidio and Gianna the very nice and kind owners)

I am seriously disheartened by the management staff, specifically Jannah. I had not yet had a chance to try out this establishment, but I will not be making a trip due to how they treat their employees. They have cultivated and extremely toxic work culture, And have seriously devalued their team; I cannot in good, conscious support a business that has these practices.
We came here for the first time after seeing it as a suggestion on Instagram!! The parking situation and location are a little confusing. Maybe a sign around the parking area would help? Once inside, it’s a very lovely atmosphere. We ordered the Il Forno cocktail and oh wow! It was absolutely delicious! For our appetizer we ordered the Focaccia Napolitana and that was also amazing! We had to try the pizzas as our entrées so I got the Capricciosa and my boyfriend got the Vesuvio. I am vegetarian, so I asked the server if I was able to get the Capricciosa without the prosciutto (because all the other ingredients are my favorites) and she said yes so I was very excited! Pizzas were perfection! For dessert we had to get the tiramisu. Honestly, we were a little disappointed because everything else had been so amazing. The tiramisu was not as original/authentic as we’d hoped, but still good. The server that night was very busy because the bartender called out sick, so she had to get behind the bar too, so we didn’t really see much of her. We waited a long time between finishing our meal and waiting to order dessert and then between finishing dessert and receiving our check. The server did apologize and acknowledge it, and was sweet. We understand it was a rare occasion, but not a good experience for our first time. (My pizza picture came out so blurry not sure why, but didn’t realize until we were driving home.)
Parking: Parking is confusing in regards to the actual location.

What an absolute gem. Service was outstanding. We called to check on wait time, and as I got off the phone, I said “sounds great, we are heading that way”. When we got there, we found that there was now a wait, but when I said “we just called”, we found that there was only a wait because the owner had saved our seats since we said we were on the way. Food was heavenly, and reminded us of our honeymoon in Italy. The owner walked around, made conversation with guests, and he and his family insured everything went seamless for every guest there. The place itself is very clean and comfortable, very cute. We will be back, undoubtedly.
