Joe Muer Seafood - Nashville

We just had our 5 year anniversary dinner at the Detroit Cowboy and it was absolutely wonderful. Our server Garrett was so attentive, friendly and helpful. Music was great, cocktails were amazing, and the FOOD was incredible. Oysters were fresh, steaks were perfect, highly suggest the lobster mac and cheese as a side. Can't wait to come back. Thank you to the wonderful staff for a great experience.

The Detroit Cowboy was a very good experience. The bread and white bean salad were very good. The tomahawk steak was very good and the fat literally melted in your mouth. Highly recommend the Mac n cheese. The charred broccoli I thought could have been cooked a tad longer but it was still good. It was Valentines night and they were very busy. Service was good but not quick but I am willing to look past that due to it being Valentine's in Nashville. There was a live honky tonk band and the noise level was very well managed. I would recommend this to any couple wanting a nice dinner in downtown Nashville. Decor was modern but elegant.

Our experience was awful. Service was okay... at best. No one from management ever stopped by which is normal at a restaurant with this price level. Unacceptable. The food was terrible. I got the bone in ribeye which had little to no flavor and was extremely tough. For a $90 steak, it came nowhere near close to expectations. I would have been disappointed if it was a $30 steak. My wife got a filet and while not as tough, it too lacked any flavor. We got frites as our side and while my wife enjoyed them, I thought they were moderate at best. In a town with numerous fine dining options, I would not recommend this place. It failed to deliver in any capacity. While we are okay with spending that kind of money, we expect the food or service to be on par with the price point. Both the food and service fell far short of what it cost.

From the front door to the last bite every detail was amazing!!! It was our first time dining here but it definitely won't be our last! I ordered the Elk back-strap and it literally melted in my mouth!! My husband chose the bone in ribeye and as a self proclaimed steak expert he said it was the best he'd ever eaten! Our mac and cheese and whipped potato sides were equally mouthwatering! I ordered the wedge salad with the smoked blue cheese and wow!! I was bursting with flavor! My drink from the bar was a hot top shelf margarita and it was 5 stars no doubt!! Last but certainly not least was our server Sid, (I pray I spelled correctly). He was on point with everything! He was attentive, his timing for checking on us was impeccable, and made our experience amazing! Thanks to each and every employee at The Detroit Cowboy, you all made our Valentine's Day lovecation even a little sweeter!!

Loved everything about our meal! Had the bone marrow, the bean relish was so tasty, the butter with roasted sea salt made the bread basket an extra treat and filet was perfect!

On Valentine's Day (February 14, 2016) at 4:30 PM, I took my wife out for a special dinner, and overall, the experience was mixed. The restaurant itself was very clean, beautifully decorated, and had a nice, romantic ambience — perfect for Valentine's Day. The bathrooms were spotless, and the customer service was great from the moment we arrived. Our waitress was friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to clearly explain the menu. The service was also impressively quick, especially for such a busy holiday evening. We ordered the 32 oz Tomahawk steak ($152), along with mashed potatoes, smashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts, and dessert. Unfortunately, this is where things fell short. We requested the steak medium well, but it came out medium rare. On top of that, the steak was lukewarm, and all of the sides were not hot either. The food also lacked seasoning and flavor, which was very disappointing — especially for a high-end, fine dining restaurant. With a total bill of $380, I expected the food to be cooked to the correct temperature, served hot, and properly seasoned. While the atmosphere and service were excellent, the quality, temperature, and flavor of the food did not meet the expectations that come with that price point. Overall, it was a beautiful setting with great service, but the food execution and seasoning need improvement, especially for special occasions.

Food - Great! Service - Great! Parking available in parking garage behind the restaurant. We were there do an hour and a half and parking was free.

We gave it a try and unfortunately left disappointed. The portion sizes were surprisingly small for the price point. My wife ordered the beet salad, which was extremely minimal, and the asparagus side consisted of only six spears. We did not order any drinks, yet our total bill came to $240. We regularly dine at other well-known downtown restaurants, and you're welcome to review my past feedback — I'm generally very fair and rarely leave negative reviews. This experience simply did not meet expectations for value or quality.

Took my daughter there for a valentine dinner,we were delighted and thoroughly pleased. We had Lobster Tail and Wagyu Steak (Fantastic) expensive but well worth it for my wonderful, precious DAUGHTER. We will frequent Detroit Cowboy as it made a memorable impression .

Wow in the worst way! Let's start at the beginning, over 20 minutes late for our reservation, the hostess informed us it was Valentine's Day, it wasn't.. but I'm over 40 yrs old, I understand sure it's a busy weekend;however every other restaurant with the same prices we visited had no issues keeping up with the scheduled times. The price point was ridiculous for the quality of food we had. We have no issue paying for great food but this missed the mark. $90 for a rancid ribeye not cooked to temp (med rare);the seafood also had a stench of spoil. The dessert could have been made at an 8yr olds bake off. Mama's apple pie, no flavor and uncooked apples. The only saving grace was the entertainment and service. All of the servers were helpful and attentive. The band playing was phenomenal, the lead singer, all of them fantastic and so personable. Admittedly we didn't expect a foodie experience, we expected the place to be campy and it was, but you can't create a campy restaurant and think charging that much is appropriate.

We dined as a party of six for a birthday/Galentine's dinner. While we understand it was a busy weekend, service at our table felt inattentive compared to smaller tables nearby. Several of us needed drink refills, but our server did not return to the table for approximately 30 minutes. During food service, one interaction felt uncomfortable due to how closely a server leaned over a guest. Additionally, multiple steaks were not cooked to the temperatures requested; however, most guests still ate due to hunger. We had hoped for a better experience given the occasion, and we share this feedback in hopes it helps improve future service.

The lobster mac and cheese tasted like a had sat under a warmer for awhile. It was quite dried out on top. The Sea Bass was amazing though.

Took a coworker to The Detroit Cowboy last night for his first visit... and let's just say, he gets it now. From the moment he walked in, he said the vibe is electric — great music, cool crowd, and that unapologetic Detroit-meets-Nashville energy that makes the place stand out. He even grabbed a selfie with Kid Rock (because how do you not?) and picked up some merch to make the night official. But let's talk about the food — absolutely fantastic. Not just “bar good,” but legitimately crave-worthy. Every dish hit. You can tell they care about what's coming out of that kitchen. If you haven't been yet, fix that. Whether it's your first time, your fifteenth or maybe my 25th, The Detroit Cowboy delivers every time. We'll definitely be back. 🤠🔥

Great service from start to finish. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable about the entire menu, answered all of our questions, and was so easy to talk to. We loved our cocktails and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The standout dish was the steak and elk, and the sea bass was perfectly buttery — the scallops were just as good. We'll definitely be returning. A live band was setting up as we finished dinner, and next time we'd love to stay and enjoy the music while we eat. The only downside was being seated by the large windows and doors, which let in a cold draft. A few guests stepped out to the patio to smoke, and each time the door opened a rush of cold air came in. Aside from that, we had a wonderful dinner experience.

This was a phenomenal experience, was a pleasure meeting the staff and the chef every single item was impeccable and the cocktails were perfection thank you! Will be dining often.
