Madera Cafe

I've been here a few times now and I'm still not a fan. They are located in the Plaza Mariachi shopping center on Nolensville Road. They have a coffee place and a restaurant next door. I had a few of their items and they are ok but definitely not worth the price they charge. It's missing something. The kitchen it's open to the public which I like a lot. I have been to Cafe Madera on several occasions and was disappointed with the service each time until today. Elizabeth was our server today and although she is new she was very attentive and prompt. If she didnt know the answer to a question she asked and gave us the answer right away. Each time I have been here the food has been good but today was by far the best. Sadly, I feel this place has gone downhill. I think they used to be branded as a Latin grill, now they're calling themselves "Tex-Mex". There's really nothing Tex Mex about it. Dishes like arepas and shrimp and grits are not Tex Mex, there are no frozen margaritas, it's like they're confused about what they want to be.
