It is not an authentic mexican restaurant. No flavor. So expensive for nothing. I asked for a trifongo and they gave me something weird.

This was not authentic Mexican food. The queso taste like the cheese that used to come in the lunchables. They didn't toast our tortillas.

Seriously the best brunch and service (and a great value). The chorizo tacos are scrumptious! Our server, Noah, was awesome!!

I've been here a few times now and I'm still not a fan. They are located in the Plaza Mariachi shopping center on Nolensville Road. They have a coffee place and a restaurant next door. I had a few of their items and they are ok but definitely not worth the price they charge. It's missing something. The kitchen it's open to the public which I like a lot. You get some experience I guess. They have a bar and outside seating that it looks like it can also be use during the cold weather. Their decor it's you guessed it "wood". The chairs and booths are not very comfortable because they have no cushion. They have a bathroom in the restaurant and they have a changing table. The staff is not the best, I did like the girl that served us last time we went. She was attentive and friendly. Other staff seem and act like they don't want to be there, if you don't want to be there why would I? That's maybe why I'm still not sold on the place. I will still go unless I find a new place to grab a bite that's near my friend's house.

I have been to Cafe Madera on several occasions and was disappointed with the service each time until today. Elizabeth was our server today and although she is new she was very attentive and prompt. If she didnt know the answer to a question she asked and gave us the answer right away. Each time I have been here the food has been good but today was by far the best. I had the blackened fish tacos which were served with a side of black beans and Spanish rice. I am picky about grilled fish tacos and these were seasoned perfectly as were the black beans. We also had the queso and salsa. Late in the meal I asked for a beer because I needed to cool off the heat from the peppers. Elizabeth brought it to me right away. I mention this because in the past I have been left waiting on my drink for ten minutes. They also had a low key guitar player providing wonderful instrumentals and landing a cool atmosphere. All in all I think The Plaza Mariachi is a fantastic place to bring friends and guests from out of town. There are several options for food, drinks, and desserts from lower to higher prices. I was pleasantly surprised with my service today as that has been my only complaint each time I have been there. Make it easy for me to part with my hard earned money and I am happy to do so in exchange for prompt service with a smile and one of Plaza Mariachi's yummy Margaritas, Palomas, or Mojitos. Make sure you stroll around and check out the shops as well as the beautiful artistry that makes The Plaza Mariachi so unique.

Salsa was in a small sauce cup. Chips were stale. Couldn't get the 1st refill and had to ask for every one thereafter while watching the server and two others eat at the bar which had stock and cleaning supplies on it. Garbage cans overflowing and dirty dishes everywhere. When the food did arrive the burritos were 1/3 of the size. Chicken breast barely done and everything was absolutely flavorless except the black beans. Server was a sweet girl when she came around. Long island iced tea had more ice than liquor. We wish you better luck. Take your $60 elsewhere.

Sadly, I feel this place has gone downhill. I think they used to be branded as a Latin grill, now they're calling themselves "Tex-Mex". There's really nothing Tex Mex about it. Dishes like arepas and shrimp and grits are not Tex Mex, there are no frozen margaritas, it's like they're confused about what they want to be. I came here for dinner so I can't speak to the brunch menu but items like maduros Or green plantains were not available. Service was great. Salsa portion with chips was stingy. Very small bowl of guacamole was $9. Good, but very overpriced. I ordered shrimp and grits. They didn't bring a kids menu so I assume they don't have one, which means we ordered a $9 plate of wings that my child barely touched. The chipotle shrimp and grits ($18) were good and unique, but they were really light on the grits, the cheapest part of the dish? I guess I'm glad they didn't skimp on the shrimp but it was unbalanced. Overall, pretty pricey, not really Tex Mex, not really Latin grill, we would have been much happier eating in the food court.

Not worth it. We stopped by today to eat and wished we went somewhere else. We ordered the Cuban sliders appetizer and literally just got 3 bread sandwiches. There was barely any meat in the Cuban sliders. The only thing you could taste was the bread. We also ordered the Cuban sandwich entree with yucca fries. This was not any better. While the bread was crispy and toasty it suffered from not having any meat and you get only 6 yucca fries. Yucca fries and sauce was good as was the chips and salsa. The sliders were $9 and the entree Cuban was $12. Totally not worth the price. Highly suggest to spend your money else where.

Food is awful. The server/bartender was really nice. The drinks were OK but won't eat here ever again.

Delicious Carne Asada, but not enough meat for a child. Also, a huge piece of fat. When I told the waitress, nothing was done.
