Mofongo Café is an absolute gem that brings authentic Caribbean flavors to Nashville with warmth and excellence. I stopped in for lunch and left thoroughly impressed.

The oxtails were the star of my meal – perfectly tender, richly seasoned, and falling off the bone. It was a pleasant surprise to find them on the menu, and they exceeded every expectation. The depth of flavor showed real care in the preparation, with that slow-cooked goodness that makes oxtails such a beloved comfort food.

I went with the rice & bean platter, which proved to be outstanding value for the price. The portion was generous, the flavors were spot-on, and everything was prepared with obvious attention to quality. While I was initially hoping to find pernil on the menu, this turned out to be a complete non-issue once I tasted what they had to offer.

The food speaks for itself here – authentic, flavorful, and satisfying. Mofongo Café has earned a spot on my regular rotation. If you're craving Caribbean cuisine in Nashville, this is where you need to be. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Highly recommended – don't miss this place!

A must try if you crave comfort carribean food from Puerto Rico or Dominican Republic. Easily the best Habichuelas in town and fantastic empanadas!

I saw online and I was hyped up and super exited. When I walk where the food was my face immediately changed. I realized its not Puertorican food. Instead of following my judgment and walk away, I ordered. I said you can't go wrong with mofongo and carne frita. Boy was i wrong. Mofongo 2nd worst I tasted, first worst belongs to a restaurant in Tampa Florida, titos kitchen and the carne frita like they when to put salt and the cap broke and dumped the entire bottle. To make matters worst the Malta Indian tasted like it got frozen and then defrost and then rechill. I think because my mind was set on Puertorican food and it wasn't made it worse. But to be positive they did had salsa music playing.

This is by far one of my favorite places to eat in Nashville. It’s so good: my go to is the chicken empanadas and vanilla flan. I love everything about this place. This is definitely where the locals eat and it’s a hidden gem. They are generous with their portions and the food is like magic in my mouth.

This place is blah, as far as their interior is concerned by making it look cultural. Not impressive, looks more like a simply decorative house incorporated with some modern lighting. The servers were a bit snobby, especially at checkout with the male., narcissistic is the word for him. The bread and food tastes old and not fresh, like real authentic food should., it tastes like it was bought from another company. I'm surprised it's around for as long as they have been in business, since the pandemic. Better to try other avenues, besides the food/service industry.
