This is the best food in Nashville. The people are amazing! The services are top- tier. I go there at least once a week.
They have even hired my band to play at some events they had! I would recommend this place to everyone. If you come to Nashville, you must stop by Monique’s!!
Always on point and friendly atmosphere
Home cooking that is cooked with love! Oxtails are the best I've had! All sides we had are tasty! Fried chicken was on point! And the sweet tea was perfect to wash it down! We will definitely go back again.
Love this place, and Ms Monique is kind and friendly! The banana pudding is to die for!
Monique’s Homestyle Cooking at 451 Ponder Place is a true gem in Nashville that’s been serving up soul-satisfying meals for years. This spot nails the classic “meat and two” combo, offering generous portions at prices that are a real bargain in today’s economy. The restaurant and kitchen are impressively clean and well-kept, which speaks volumes about their commitment to quality. The food? Absolutely delicious. The fried and baked chicken, in particular, is a standout—crispy, juicy, and seasoned to perfection. If you’re looking for hearty, homestyle cooking with a welcoming vibe, Monique’s is the place to be.
Best ox tails in town
Love this place! I come here every Sunday faithfully for dinner!!
The food was awesome.
OMG, I am completely appalled. Let’s start with the old pork chop that was deep fried in old fish grease and the amount of oil that was in my greens. I could have combed 10 different children’s hair with it! It had no flavor or seasoning whatsoever not to mention the cornbread that was hard enough to burst a thick window, but it did not stop there. I tried to have a drink of the sweet tea, but it had the taste of something that had been sitting in an old tin can that had not been washed for weeks. I cannot make this up. I should have trusted the previous reviews and stayed away from this place, but I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt I am so angry. Not to mention I was charged $15 and some change for one pork chop one side and a piece of cornbread with something to drink. Some people will sell you anything. I will never ever come back to this place.

Pricey $15 for 1 porkchop , and it was thin and dry. The sides were just okay. They had a sign up short-handed.

My first and last time eating here. I'm glad someone treated me for lunch. I've had better tasting food in a hospital. I got fried chicken, pinto beans and mashed potatoes. The beans were dry. No gravy was poured over my mashed potatoes. The food was not seasoned. At alllll. ? I was in shock, disbelief, and flabbergasted. On how nasty the food was. I should have known . From the people I saw in there. I love the elderly. But some older people. Are just glad they still here. And will eat anything ??♀️.

The food wasn't seasoned at all, bland..They gave me OLD CHICKEN, SO HARD THAT IT could have broken my partial.. The lady that was serving the food was a little rude... passive aggressive..They were out of chicken after being open for 2 hours....
