O'Charley's Restaurant & Bar in Nashville is a popular spot known for its warm and welcoming atmosphere. The menu features a variety of dishes, including the popular loaded potato soup and spicy jack wedges. The Top Shelf Combo appetizer and beloved rolls remain customer favorites. The service is generally good, with friendly staff members who aim to provide a pleasant dining experience. Even during quieter times, the restaurant offers quick seating and good drinks, contributing to a positive overall impression. Recent reviews mention the Clam Chowder Bowl with Lemon Peppered Rainbow Trout, Fried Okra, and Strawberry Cheesecake, along with attentive service from staff members. The restaurant also hosts a Wednesday night "date night" special with free pie, and the bartender is known for her excellent margaritas and friendly attitude. However, some guests have noted issues such as lukewarm grits, non-fresh salad ingredients, and less-than-ideal bathroom conditions, which affected their experience. A few reviewers also mentioned being served salty gravy and potatoes that weren’t warm, as well as long waits for the bill. Despite these concerns, many still appreciate the friendly service and quality food offered at O'Charley's.
