Visiting Tennessee and was looking for a place with rib tips. After calling several BBQ places Papa Tunrney was only one that had rib tips. Very secluded place by the lake and nice atmosphere. We all had a 2 meat combo. Rib tips, fried catfish, pulled pork, ribs, links and all sides were great. Will be Visiting whenever we come to TennesseeWheelchair accessibility: Ramp to get to upper level where restaurant is.
Papa Turney's has the best BBQ! They are family owned and food is fantastic. Love the turnip greens! Restaurant looks out to Percy Priest and they do live music too!

If you know about Papa Turney’s, you know what a hidden gem this place is. The hickory smoked bbq is very good and well-priced, but the atmosphere is as authentic of a music spot you will find in Nashville. Wednesdays and Saturdays are open to musicians and bands who can come and put their name down to play. You don’t know who you’re going to see, but I’ve been blown away multiple times now by the talent level of the musicians who come. He’s a genuinely nice guy who has his whole family working and will approach you, thank you for coming and make you feel like family. To me, Papa Turneys epitomizes the spirit of music city.

Mike’s a sweetheart. Introduced me to his wife across the room and encouraged me to come for the Blues jam, Wednesday and Saturday nights). Had the smoked catfish (delicious), grilled cabbage and cole slaw with a coke. Low key, live music, welcoming host, nice people, great food, waterside dining, what else could you want?

This restaurant is a family owned business that is next to a boat dock. The atmosphere is wonderful with the staff being very friendly. You can either dine inside or outside with a spectacular view of the water. Inside their is music as well as people happily chatting with everyone. This is a great place to visit and experience!I personally recommend the fried catfish!Parking: There are parking for cars and trucks with boatsWheelchair accessibility: There’s an incline ramp on the side/front of the restaurant.

The chess pie and lemonade were good.Brisket was good but there was barely any on the Nachos. The nachos had: chips, nacho cheese, jalapeños and brisket.The pulled pork sandwich had fat mixed in, would have been better without it. (That's a personal preference thing).The staff was friendly and the bathrooms were clean. The location is nice.I might come back another day when they have the band playing and try something different on their menu.
