Not sure how they got 4.5 stars but all of the meat in my tacos were hard. The steak and the chicken. The only one worth eating was the Pastor. The Birria tacos also lacked flavor and the cossome was served luke warm. Hopefully this was just an off day. Not sure if I will come back.

Carne aside had good flavor and sauce but was a little fatty. It's a restaurant inside of a convenience store. I'll have to try the tacos next

If you want to eat real Mexican food not Americanized or TexMex but real Mexican food this is one of the few places in Nashville. Quick question do Mexicans add cheese to tacos? Not necessarily, a real taco is seasoned meat cilantro, and the corn taco. Is this true of all Mexican tacos? No, because Mexico just like America and Europe has different regions. This restaurant reflects Puebla, Mexico. Puebla belongs to the east-central Mexico region. This state in Mexico, borders states like Veracruz, Oaxaca, Guerrero, Morelos... The city of Puebla is the state capital and a major commercial center. City Tacos Mexican food is very different, extremely authentic and the cost is as humble and wonderful as the people that prepare your meal. Not a luxurious setting, (inside a convenience store) but foodies like me view it like taking a trip to Mexico, visiting my friend's Mama's home, and eating her food made with love.

Near The Nashville Fairgrounds is a small market and inside is a little restaurant serving traditional Mexican food. It was our first visit and we were trying sopes for the first time. We really enjoyed the old world recipe, the care taken to prepare and ingredients that comprised these items. We order the grilled shrimp, grilled fish, carne asada steak, the el pastor pork and the grilled pollo chicken. They have a corn base with Mexican cheese and black beans with lettuce, tomatoes and sliced avocado. A generous amount of food for the price and the taste. Great care is taken by the employees to provide such a wonderful meal!

This gems has really good Mexican food! The entrance is to the right and up the wooden stairs. The staff is friendly and the food was fresh. I had the carne asada sopes (they taste better than they look in the picture) and they were the best I’ve had in Nashville. The watermelon juice was refreshing.

Shared space with a small convenience shop. Truly a "hole-in-the-wall" vibe. Family-owned, cooked to order. Excellent food. Highly recommend if you like authentic street food.
