We both ordered our steaks medium rare. They came to us as between medium and medium well. It took so long we did not send them back. Our meal time was 2:30. Service was ok. Head waiter Scott was ok not great. His attention to us was not good after the over cooked steaks. He devoted his attention to another six top table. Our back up Waiter was Nick. He was great. Got a free dessert but in my opinion that was not enough. If you brag about your steaks then cook them correctly. We will not be back. We live in Nashville

This was our first time attending your establishment. I found it odd that no one of color was working there and if they do I didn't see any. The guy who filled our water was awesome. My actual waiter we didn't like. He was very stand off and didn't interact with us the way he interacted with other tables. Didn't explain the menu at all. I told him the corn in the grits and the texture caught me off guard and I didn't like it. And his reply was rude. Overall the place was nice and quiet and my husband enjoyed it. I probably wouldn't return.

We went to The Standard to celebrate our anniversary. This was the second time we have been there. We were very happy with the entire experience. Cocktails were well prepared and nicely garnished. The spinach salad was delicious. My husband loved the pork chop. I have the filet and it was tender and cooked perfectly. We shared the cobbler of the day which was quite yummy. The dining room is lovely and feels special for any kind of celebration. The service was very professional and attentive. We will be back next time we are in Nashville!

Great place to unwind and enjoy delicious food. Unsurpassed Waygu appetizer to start. Great chocolate mousse to end. Service was friendly and swift.

The Standard is an experience that should not be missed. From the historical building, old world ambience, to the amazing service The Standard does not disappoint. We had the Standard filet and the Blackened Chilean Sea Bass and both were amazing. They also make a fantastic old fashioned.

Amazing experience! A quaint, classy, elegant - but far from boring! The food was an experience in itself - one of the best filets I've ever had paired with the lobster dip you'll be callin' your mama about, and a couple of salads to make us feel like we were getting our greens in! The skillet cookie and ice cream is a dessert I'll be dreaming of for birthdays to come. Our host and server were top-notch. I wanted to hire them for the company I haven't even started! The French Martini was DIVINE. Thank you for a delightful evening. If you're considering this spot for a girls night out, special date, corporate gathering, family birthday - you can stop looking...this is it! They have plenty of separate spaces to create just the vibe you're going for and you will be celebrated for finding such a perfect spot! (Also - it's a 2 block walk to Broadway...so start here, finish there...perfection!)

We had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary at the Standard. The unfortunate recent change in parking accommodations is the only drawback. Had we known ahead of time, we would've planned accordingly. Overall, amazing experience!

The food and service were first class, to put it mildly. The ribeye and mushrooms were wonderful, and the Chilean sea bas was prepared and presented perfectly. Highly recommend the ice cream/cobbler dessert. The asparagus and mashed potatoes were delicious.

The ambiance was excellent! The staff was amazing! Appetizers and desert was really good. The main coarse of steak and shrimp was really bad. The steak was one of the worst I have ever ate. The shrimp looked like they were microwaved and had a horrible smell. Two out of three guests steak was bad.

Had an amazing meal. The special bone in elk was outstanding. Creamed corn was addicting. Loved the unique venue and atmosphere.

This is my third time coming to The Standard; we come every year. The dining experience is phenomenal. There is nothing like the quality of their menu. Make sure to order the Fried Green Tomatoes, they are life changing. Also our waiter Sean was amazing and showed us around this historical home. Absolutely unbelievable.

The Standard at The Smith House is hands-down my favorite spot in Nashville. Every time I go, it feels like stepping back in time in the best way possible. It's always quiet, intimate, and never overcrowded—just how a perfect dinner should be. The staff is consistently attentive and kind, and the food? Absolutely amazing every single time. Before dinner, you're escorted to the coziest little bar that feels like something out of an old movie—complete with a crackling stone fireplace, a majestic elk on the wall, and those rich red velvet curtains. It's warm, timeless, and full of charm. Whether you're celebrating something special or just want a peaceful, elevated evening out, The Standard never disappoints.

The Standard is our favorite dinner spot for special occasions! The food is absolutely delicious—you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. They offer friendly service and a sophisticated ambience. If you have not dined here, it is a must-try for Nashville!

Outstanding as always! The staff accommodated our party even though we had more than we had a reservation for. Everything was an 11/10 from start to finish!
